The Gunners are getting closer to finishing off on a loan deal for the midfielder, with head coach Unai Emery hoping to have the deal closed soon.
Arsenal are currently working on a switch that could have the Barcelona midfielder, 25, replace Aaron Ramsey who is working on moving to Juventus, with the Welshman joining the Italian champions in January rather than during the transfer window of next summer.
Arsenal have also been helped immensely after Barcelona’s surprise capture of Kevin Prince Boateng – and Ernesto Valverde, boss of the Spanish team, admitting that it means that his first team squad members are now poised to leave the team should they wish.
Valverde, speaking about the upcoming changes and Denis Suarez’s imminent move to Arsenal, said :
“I know Denis was in this situation. It’s not official yet and we have to wait a little,” Valverde told the media ahead of Barcelona’s Copa Del Rey quarter-final against Sevilla.
“It was a possibility that everyone valued, and we hope that things go well.”
There are a number of aspects to consider before moving the player over, including the impact on both the team and the international odds markets, and more information will be revealed from the various betting sites that make up part of the current market.
Suarez is one of two loan deals that are being sought after by the cash-strapped Gunners. Emery remains confident that he will be reunited with the player that he provided coaching for at Sevilla five years ago after Suarez only managed to play 17 minutes of La Liga so far this season and has been featured more prominently at the Copa del Rey.
The head coach has so far confirmed that he wishes to take Suarez into his team, saying that the club has been working on situations that can help them.
He added that while he cannot speak for individual players, he knows that the club has been looking at different possibilities that may aid them within January, and that the transfer window is difficult for the market – and if one player comes to help, he will be happy.
Francis Cagigao, head of international recruitment for the club, is getting ready to take on the promotion to replace Sven Mislintat who has confirmed that he will be leaving by the 8th of January. Cagigao was initially not considered for a senior role after the restructuring put in place by now-departed chief executive Ivan Gazidis.

But confirmation is in that he will be succeeding Mislintat, who is on the way out of the team after growing disillusioned at being disregarded for a position as a sporting director.
It has also been made clear that Mislintat is frustrated at not receiving the freedom he needed with the new head coach, and instead he played a role in the say of which transfer targets were in the works along with head of football Raul Sanllehi.
