Jose Mourinho may just be on the verge of receiving an offer for a midfielder which may sound a few alarms for Manchester United. [spacer height=”30px”]
It is now being reported that Athletic Bilbao are interested to sign United’s midfielder, Ander Herrera, and even make him their highest paid midfielder in a bid to lure him back to Spain. [spacer height=”30px”]
United acquired Herrera from Athletic Bilbao in 2014, for a sum of £33 millions. Since then the Spaniard has gone on to feature in 161 matches for Red Devils.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]During this time he has claimed the honors of the FA cup, the League cup, Community Shield and the Europa League during his time with the Red Devils. [spacer height=”30px”]
However Despite a fantastic first season, last season saw him lose game time, as he went down the pecking order to the likes of Pogba and Matic and barely featured in a handful of games from the start. [spacer height=”30px”]
AS: Athletic Bilbao wants a return for Ander Herrera of Manchester United. With a year left on his contract, Bilbao will try to negotiate a reduced fee or wait until January. AC Milan and Real Zaragoza are also interested. #Bilbao #MUFC pic.twitter.com/j4Pq7fYRQE

[spacer height=”30px”]The Spainard’s contract was supposed to end this summer but United were quick to trigger a clause of one year contact extension in his contract prolonging his stay at the club.[spacer height=”30px”]
The addition of Brazilian boy Fred, and United’s pursuit of another midfielder will surely see him go further down the pecking order, with further loss in game time and a loss in importance hardly reason enough to stay. [spacer height=”30px”]
Even with a year still in his contract, Bilbao are interested to sign him and make him their highest paid midfielder.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]Although United officials are open to listen to offers for Herrera, it is highly unlikely that Bilbao would make a bid that may lure United into selling Herrera.[spacer height=”30px”]
The Spaniard has previously expressed his interest in returning to Spain, but is also keen on fighting for his place in United’s star studded midfield.[spacer height=”30px”]
Ander Herrera is one of United’s most priced midfielder. Even though his discipline on the pitch was often questioned, he has proved his worth time and again, and was even named Manchester United’s Player of the year for the season of 2016-17 beating De Gea and ending his consecutive streak. [spacer height=”30px”]
Even with the current standards of United’s midfield, Herrera is of their top players and it would be extremely difficult for any other club to tempt United to sell the player.[spacer height=”30px”]
[spacer height=”30px”]If Herrera does indeed decide to move on this summer, United will be losing one of their best midfielders in the dressing room. Herrera may not quite display the flair and exuberance often displayed by the likes of Pogba or Sanchez, however his work rate, and that basic truck load of Grit makes him an absolute essential to have in the team. Its a quality few players possess and ever fewer who display at as spiritedly as the Spaniard.[spacer height=”30px”]
AS report that Athletic Bilbao are interested in bringing Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera back to the La Liga side. They are willing to make him their highest paid player.

[spacer height=”30px”]Even though he is keen to make it through in United this coming season, Its indeed possible he might want to move but almost highly impossible for Bilbao to cough up the funds to United. [spacer height=”30px”]
Honestly Its difficult seeing Herrera wanting to move and surrender his place in the team without even picking up the first fight. That’s not who Ander Herrera is, Its more likely that for now he will turn down any approach made for his signature and instead dig deep and focus on fighting it out for his place in the team. [spacer height=”30px”]
A deal for both parties makes sense next season when Herrera’s contract expires in the summer and is more likely to happen. [spacer height=”30px”]
