How Long Before Aubameyang Quits International Football After Racial Abuse and Death Threats

Aubameyang

The epidemic of vengeful racism continues, if it ever truly went away and black players are now looking to the sports governing bodies to act swiftly to ensure they are permitted to play without these degrading chants at every match and with a view to remove these so called fans from any future games at all stadiums. The latest player to suffer the tongue of ignorance is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who was viciously abused by Moroccan fans after scoring and celebrating his goal in Gabon’s 3-2 win.

Hot shot Aubameyang had to endure abuse in the stadium and on social media from vile fans who threatened to kill the Arsenal striker.

It should have been an amazing return to the international stage after Aubameyang’s self imposed exile, which was due to his deteriorating relationship with the Gabon football federation.

He hadn’t played since the 1-1 draw with Burundi and this was only his fifth match since 2017. His goal announced his comeback but unfortunately, the occasion was tarnished by a section of the crowd with monkey chanting and vile name calling.

Aubameyang simply said:

“I am really disappointed about that.”

You may remember that Aubameyang was abused by a Spurs fan during the North London Derby when a fan threw a banana at him, which resulted in prosecution but will this latest act finally make him quit the international stage.

He came close to announcing his retirement after the Gabon football federation falsely announced that Aubameyang’s father had been appointed as joint-coach in 2018, which saw the Arsenal hitman attack them on social media.

At 30, Aubameyang may want to concentrate on his club football and avoid the awful bear pit of international football where racism seems to be completely acceptable.

Despicable fans took to social media with one declaring:

“F*** you if you are here in morocco I swear I kill you.”

Let’s hope the governing bodies resolve the situation soon and allow this superb talent to show off his predatory instincts, which entertain millions of supporters, not just those that follow Arsenal.
