United Linked With Unfathomable £70m Move For World Class Arsenal Striker

Ramsey, Aubameyang, Ozil, Ramsey contract extension

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang has shut down rumors linking him with a potential switch to Manchester United this summer.

Aubameyang was sensationally said to be a subject of interest at Old Trafford, who were apparently considering a ‘Robin van Persie-esque’ move for him. The striker enjoyed a fantastic season for Arsenal last year, ending it as the joint top-scorer in the Premier League alongside Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane on 22 goals.

United are on the look out for a striker, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer failing to take to Romelu Lukaku. The striker is not keen on playing a backup role to Marcus Rashford and is looking for a place where he would be the go-to man. At the moment, Inter Milan appears to be his destination of choice, with the Italian giants showing a genuine interest in the forward.

With his future being uncertain, United are keeping an eye on multiple targets who could potentially replace him. Aubameyang seemed to be the last person on everyone’s minds, until talkSPORT presenter Andy Goldstein dropped the bombshell on his listeners. His ‘source’ claims United have had thoughts of a £70 million move for the Gabonese star.

“I’ve got someone on the inside, not at United by the way, someone on the inside who every so often would tell me transfer gossip,”

“I would say he has a hit-ratio of about, quite high, 75-25. He’s told me quite a few that have happened. Not just at United but other clubs as well.”

“He has told me that United are interested in Aubameyang. He’s got two years left on his deal, he is 29 years old, he is the finished article. United did something similar with [Robin] van Persie, Romelu Lukaku isn’t doing it for Solskjaer, I’m led to believe.”

“[£70m] is what I’m being told. There’s a first offer. He’s only got two years left and in a year’s time he can go.”

Aubameyang though, was quick to ease fans’ fears. The 29-year-old spoke of his intentions ahead of the new season, revealing his desire to get better and better despite his advancing years.

Solskjaer To Get Sacked From United Head Coach’s Job Next Season As Predicted By Fans

Woodward Makes Interesting Decision On Pogba’s Future After Public Admission

He told Arsenal’s official website:

“Next season… let’s go!”

“Of course the season didn’t end the way we wanted it to.”

“Losing a final like that is tough for everyone, the players, our families and the fans.”

“We were all gutted in the dressing room after what happened in Baku and that’s when you need the people around you.”

“As always, my father had travelled to Baku with the rest of my family to watch me play.

“’Just continue the way you’re going,’ he said after the match. ‘You can do it better, you can get even better.’

“I’ve listened to my father’s advice throughout my whole career so if he tells me that I can get even better, then that’s exactly what I’m going to do.”
