Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang once again proved to be the knight in shining armour Arsenal fans were longing to see since years. Arsene Wenger‘s last addition to the Emirates is turning out to be the ineffable farewell gift from the former manager.
The striker became the first player to reach double-digit goals this Premier League campaign after netting a brace in the North London Derby.
However, the Gabon international believes his best form is yet to come, ahead of the league clash against the club’s nemesis Manchester United.

The 29-year-old is in seriously impressive form with a league goal every 104 minutes and scoring from all of his last 10 shots on target. In fact, the last time someone saved Aubameyang’s shot on target was Łukasz Fabianski back in August. After surpassing Thierry Henry and Robin Van Persie to be the fastest player in the club’s history to reach 20 goals, the centre-forward is still determined to be in better form.
The Gabonese international revealed [via Arsenal],
“I think I’m not at my 100 percent, but it is coming. It’s coming.
“Against Tottenham, I felt very good on the pitch and I am really happy. But my best form is coming.
“We have to look forward because we have an important game on Wednesday. We know that it’s tough to stay in the top-four. It was tough, derbies are like this and it was very important that we won.
“But the next game is more important. So we need to continue like this, to believe. We have to go to Old Trafford to win. As we played today, we also have to play in the next games.”

United are on a sub-par start to the season with their manager Jose Mourinho admitting that ‘it would take a miracle to finish in top-four.’
The 7th place side are currently 8 points below Unai Emery‘s men with just 3 wins out of their last 9 league fixtures and are facing an injury crisis with 8 defenders being unavailable for action. The Red Devils had to play midfielders Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic in defence during the 2-2 draw against Southampton which means Aubameyang will have an upper-hand to be on track with his red-hot form.

I think that despite being in arguably the best form in years, the Londoners will have to pull up their socks at Old Trafford. The 19-game unbeaten run has certainly given the team confidence but the Manchester outfit have always proved to be one of the toughest opponents for the Gunners in the season. Aubameyang will have the perfect opportunity to live up to his words by delivering a strong performance against the hosts on Wednesday.
