Australia and Peru have never faced each other in international football before. Australia picked up their first point of the tournament against Denmark drawing 1-1 with the Danes. Australian captain Mile Jedinak scored for the second time running from the penalty spot. This promises to be an entertaining affair with Australia still having the possibility to qualify and Peru playing for broke.

In the first game, they conceded a penalty which was given by VAR and were unlucky later on as a deflected Paul Pogba strike went in. Mile Jedinak, defensive midfielder for Aston Villa, will have the primary role of cutting out passing lanes and keeping the Australian team well organized while going forward as well as coming back. Peru’s Paulo Guerrero probably means more to his country than any other player in the World Cup. He is a national hero and is Peru’s main man when it comes to scoring goals. After having his drug ban overturned it just hasn’t worked out for him as he has given fairly disappointing performances in the first 2 games. He will be extra motivated as this is probably his last World Cup and will look to go home on a high by giving a win in the Australia Vs Peru game.
