Full Squad Strength Expected for the Gunners Against Bournemouth | Team News, Injury Updates, and Predicted Line-up

Bournemouth Vs Arsenal

We bring you the team news as Arsenal visit AFC Bournemouth in the third game week of the 2022-23 Premier League season. The Gunners have started the league campaign in top gear, beating Crystal Palace 2-0 and then following it up with a 4-2 win over Leicester City at home.

The North London side will be looking to continue their winning run against the Cherries. The newly-promoted Premier League side suffered a 4-0 defeat to defending Champions Manchester City last week. Arsenal and Bournemouth have faced each other 10 times, with the Gunners winning eight of them.

The two teams last met during the 2019-20 season when Bournemouth drew with Arsenal at home and lost at the Emirates Stadium 1-0. The game against Scott Parker’s side will be Arsenal’s first visit to the venue since January 2020, when goals from Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah sealed a 2-1 victory in the FA Cup.

Injury/Suspension List:

The North London side will be looking to slowly integrate Kieran Tierney into the starting lineup. He has been injured for a while and came off the bench against Crystal Palace in the opening weekend of the PL this season.

Fabio Vieira could be in line to feature for the Gunners, having returned to training this week. Takehiro Tomiyasu and Emile Smith Rowe are also in contention and coach Mikel Arteta said that one or two of the trio will start. Meanwhile, Reiss Nelson continues his recovery in the treatment room.

Bournemouth are blessed with a bunch of savvy creators and are always a threat in transition, but their defensive frailties will likely undermine their offensive efforts. Manager Parker has ruled Joe Rothwell and Ryan Fredericks out of the contest, as the duo are still some weeks away from a return to competitive action. David Brooks also remains on the comeback trail after his stage 2 Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis last year and subsequent recovery.

Parker must also decide whether to throw Neto and Marcos Senesi straight into the action in one of the most difficult fixtures of the season. The manager may want to ease the duo into Premier League football from the substitutes bench, which would therefore see Mark Travers start in goal.

Dominic Solanke has scored 44 goals over the past two seasons in the second tier and will be keen to transfer that form to the top-flight. They are short on numbers at centre-back but captain, Lloyd Kelly, has the ability to shine.

Arsenal Starting Lineup Vs AFC Bournemouth (4-2-3-1):

Aaron Ramsdale (GK); William Saliba (RB), Ben White (CB), Gabriel (CB), Oleksandr Zinchenko (LB); Granit Xhaka (CDM), Thomas Partey (CDM); Bukayo Saka (RW), Martin Ødegaard (CAM), Gabriel Martinelli (LW); Gabriel Jesus (ST)

Predicted Score: Bournemouth 0-3 Arsenal

Mikel Arteta’s men are expected to pick up a comfortable 3-0 win over the Cherries. Gabriel Jesus should continue his scoring streak, with goals from Saka and Martinelli to seal the deal over a poor defensive opposition.

Read More:

Mikel Arteta has confirmed the need for more signings before the transfer window closes but the core of the current Arsenal crop ought to feel confident about getting the job done against a Bournemouth side whose summer business has been virtually non-existent. Gabriel Jesus looked in excellent touch last Saturday and the Gunners should start on the front foot right from the kick-off.

The Spaniard has a near full-strength squad at his disposal, except for the players making their way back to full fitness. The returns of some of the previously unfit players will boost the bench strength and increase the manager’s options during the game. The Gunners are evolving, and while one or two familiar issues have cropped up, this young outfit has shown that they’re a different beast at the Emirates.

  1. Jesus is a joy to watch, but I hope Nketiah gets a run out too. Need to keep both our strikers firing.
