The Red Devils Take on the Seagulls to Keep the Hopes of a Cup Double Alive | Team News, Injuries and Predicted Lineup – Brighton vs Man United

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Manchester United, Man United

We take a look at the team news as Man United prepare to face Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup semi-final this weekend. The Red Devils must recover quickly from their disappointing defeat to Sevilla 2 days ago. The Red Devils were missing key players like Bruno Fernandes, Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane and were unable to overcome the La Liga side in the Europa League quarter-finals, losing 3-0 in Spain and 5-2 on aggregate.

With their European hopes dashed, United’s season now hinges on their FA Cup semi-final game against the Seagulls, who are having a strong season, sitting seventh in the Premier League and pushing for a place in Europe. The Red Devils have already tasted success at Wembley this season, winning the Carabao Cup.

Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi has expressed his team’s excitement at appearing in the FA Cup semi-final and promised an emotional performance against Man United. Despite their recent setback, Ten Hag’s men will be hoping to bounce back and keep their hopes alive in the competition.

Injury/Suspension List:

The Seagulls suffered a few injuries in their last match against Chelsea, with Joel Veltman and Evan Ferguson picking up thigh and ankle problems respectively, ruling them out of the upcoming semi-final match on Sunday.

They will also be missing Jakub Moder, Tariq Lamptey, Adam Lallana, and Jeremy Sarmiento due to injuries, while goalkeeper Jason Steele is doubtful. Danny Welbeck will replace Ferguson, and Julio Enciso could also start following his game-winning goal against Chelsea.

Manchester United’s personnel woes continue, with Harry Maguire suspended for the semi-final after picking up his second yellow card of the FA Cup campaign in the game against Fulham.

Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane are also out, leaving Victor Lindelof to partner with Luke Shaw. Meanwhile, Tom Heaton, Alejandro Garnacho, and Donny van de Beek remain sidelined due to injuries. Scott McTominay’s injury will require assessment before any definite update.

Anthony Martial is also a doubt after limping off in the game against Sevilla. On the bright side, Bruno Fernandes will be back from suspension, and Marcus Rashford could be considered for a start over Jadon Sancho.

Player To Watch Out For – Kaoru Mitoma

Kaoru Mitoma is a highly talented and skilled footballer who has quickly made a name for himself in the English top-flight. Born in Japan, Mitoma is a winger who possesses a wide range of skills that make him a formidable player on the field.

One of his most impressive skills is his dribbling ability. He is known for his quick feet and ability to change direction with ease, making it difficult for defenders to keep up with him. He is also capable of executing feints and tricks, which allow him to create space and get past his opponents.

Predicted Score:

Brighton 1-2 Man United

The Red Devils had a disappointing exit from the Europa League quarter-finals against Sevilla. However, with Fernandes returning from his ban and Rashford overcoming his injury, there is a strong possibility that both teams will score in the upcoming match.

The Red Devils’ squad depth should see them through to the final. Nonetheless, the Seagulls have shown their quality this season, and it wouldn’t be surprising if they push the game to extra time on Sunday with their excellent brand of football.
