Premier League Legend Has Us All Agreeing With His Simple Advice For Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher thinks Marcus Rashford should leave Jose Mourinho’s side to reach his true potential.

England forward Marcus Rashford scored only goal of match against Switzerland in International friendly played at the King Power Stadium. This is the second time he got his name onto the scoring sheet in September International break, first scoring against Spain in the UEFA Nations League.

Though he has been in good form for Three Lions, Jose Mourinho is yet to start Marcus Rashford in Premier League 2018/19. He was also sent off in United’s Premier League match against Burnley and is yet to score or assist.

Former England International Jamie Carragher feels that Mourinho’s preference of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez over Rashford is hindering his development.

“Romelu Lukaku is in front of Rashford and I don’t see Rashford displacing him as long as he is there.

“Possibly Everton is the sort of club you are looking at, just below the top six, for someone like Rashford, similar to what Lukaku did.

It gets to the stage where you want to play every week. Will he be an England regular or be Manchester United’s real centre-forward where you know, when the team is picked every week, that he is in it. Will it ever get to that stage?

In that position you have got to be world class. Rashford is not world class yet, but he might be at 23 or 24, as Lukaku has done. He looks like one of the best strikers in the world.

Rashford may have to move away to come back to one of the top teams.”

It is no doubt that time at Everton transformed him into the striker he is today and maybe Marcus Rashford could learn something from that.

Marcus Rashford had more appearances in the 2017/18 season than any other forward for Manchester United but most of them were from the bench. Rashford managed 35 appearances but played only 1792 minutes, in comparison, his England counterpart Jesse Lingard managed 33 appearances and played 1836 minutes.

In the 2017/18 Premier League Marcus Rashford scored 7goals and assisted 5 more, whereas Romelu Lukaku scored 16 and assisted 7. Though Rashford is a very talented player but he is still behind Lukaku and Sanchez in the pecking order.
