Why Jose Mourinho Must Think Twice Before About Signing This World Cup Finalist To Replace Anthony Martial

Ivan Perisic to United, Martial replacement

It has been a frustrating transfer window lately for the Red Devils, having failed to secure any other signings after 3rd choice keeper Lee Grant from Stoke City. United are in search for new right winger and a center-back, having linked with moves for a number of top players but nothing concrete seems to taking place. Recently their interest in Bale and Willian has cooled off as Mourinho turning his attention to Croatian star Ivan Perisic.[spacer height=”30px”]

Manchester United meanwhile lost 4-1 to their bitter rivals Liverpool in their pre-season tour of United states thanks to an extra ordinary bicycle kick from their new signing Xerdan Shaqiri which might have donned a better scoreline had Martial been present on the field. Despite being Pre-season a loss to bitter rivals and Mourinho’s frustrating comments regarding his team has already seen his teams odds of winning the premier decrease from top bookies who are also offering incredible videoslots bonus.[spacer height=”30px”]

United have been looking for a right-winger for the past couple of seasons, with makeshift players Juan Mata and Lingard being used in the position. Both have proved themselves performing better in a more central advanced role.[spacer height=”30px”]

Last summer United were backed to sign Croatian winger Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan, but their asking price seem to put United off. But after putting in some stellar performances at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, United’s interest in Perisic has been resurfaced again.[spacer height=”30px”]

Currently United are lacking proper winger who could put in quality crosses for striker Jordan Lukaku, who is great in air. Anthony Martial situation at Old Trafford seems to be not getting any better as he was miserable last season after arrival of Sanchez in January. He struggled in the first two games of the pre-season and later left the pre-season campaign for joining his family. Mourinho was reportedly unhappy about Martial leaving the squad.[spacer height=”30px”]

United are open to selling Martial to clubs other than the Premier League, with PSG, Bayern and Tottenham reportedly showing interest but only if United are able to secure the services of Ivan Perisic according to reports.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]Perisic is the exact Mourinho kind of player, he is a work-horse and incredibly versatile forward. Capable of playing on either flank and through the middle. He isn’t the quickest but makes up for it with his work-rate, physicality and experience that he brings to the squad.[spacer height=”30px”]

Mourinho is big admirer of Croatian and even praised Perisic during the World Cup, after Croatia defeated England in Semi-finals. [spacer height=”30px”]

“Perisic is the kind of winger that is different to the others,[spacer height=”20px”]

Normally you look at wingers and they are just fast and creative. But he is also physical, very physical. Fantastic in the air.”[spacer height=”20px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]He has been performing consistently for the past couple of seasons at both club and country, the consistency which United need and Martial hasn’t been able to provide.[spacer height=”30px”]

The only flaw in signing Perisic would be, he turns 30 years old next February and still might have a couple of years left in his prime age. But Martial is only 22 years old and has a whole career ahead of him, signing Perisic seems the most viable solution for the coming season. But loosing Martial might turn out to a decision which United might have to regret in future.[spacer height=”30px”]
