Emery Targeting This Juventus Ace To Replace Koscielny Makes Perfect Sense And We Couldn’t Agree More

Daniele Rugani

If Arsenal could bring in a genuinely skilled, natural centre-back in the form of 24-year-old Daniele Rugani, then this transfer window may be considered something of a success. According to the Tutto Mercato Web, Unai Emery is now setting his sights on Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani.

There’s still time to get deals across the line and the defensive concerns will still be etched in the minds of Arsenal fans until a decent acquisition has been found.

Daniele Rugani is a confident ball player, with a natural ability for completing a pass, long or short. At one stage, his pass completion rate was 90.9% and this would be invaluable when the defence is under pressure.

Arsenal have been unable to play their way out of trouble in the last few season due to a lack of quality at the back and even the most loyal fan of Koscielny will say he is more of a ‘hoofer’ than an skilful and assured defender, capable of changing defence into attack.

Daniele Rugani has the refreshing habit of staying on his feet when challenging the opposition, unlike a certain Mr Mustafi, an exponent of the lunge technique.

Arsenal could even snap up Rugani for £20m and when you consider that they are already offering £25m for a relatively untested left back, it appears to be even better value.

Arsenal’s need of a centre-back became even more of a priority when Laurent Koscielny virtually handed in his resignation before Arsenal’s pre-season tour of the US.

So far, Arsenal have signed Brazilian wonder-kid winger Gabriel Martinelli, Defender William Saliba and attacking midfielder Dani Ceballos. They are still looking to sign Kieran Tierney, Everton Soares and the biggest surprise of all, Nicolas Pepe for a staggering £75m.

Has the pressure got to Stan Kroenke ? He seems to be handing out cash like sweets at a children’s party. I suggest that for now, at least, we contain our collective excitement and remain extremely cautious.

Why Dani Ceballos Is The Perfect Aaron Ramsey Replacement

I want to officially kill off the Zaha deal because £80m for the Palace forward or £72m for the highly rated and versatile Frenchman is a complete no brainer.

Daniele Rugani would be excellent for Arsenal and would certainly add a level of quality that has been absent from the side since the days of Arsenal’s old guard defenders like Toby Adams.

I’m not saying he’s at that level yet, but he could be if he is in an established partnership.

Stay Tuned for further updates.

Anti Kroenke , anti Gazidis but always a gooner. Still wishes he could watch from the stands at the Highbury library.
