Arsenal Look to Repeat Martinelli Masterstroke and Sign €15m Rated Brazilian Midfielder Star

Arsenal, Danilo, Palmeiras

Arsenal are desperately looking for midfielders and forwards in the upcoming summer transfer window. They have had a long list of targets for some time now but failed to finalise any signing in the January transfer window. However, Arsenal are now reported to have zeroed in on the Brazilian wonder kid Danilo as their midfield target, whom they had on their January transfer wishlist as well.

On the field, Arsenal have not lost a match since losing to Liverpool in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-finals. After seeing six exits from the squad during the January transfer window with no replacement, the club want to waste no time in planning for the next season.

With a slew of positive results so far in February, the club are hopeful of securing Champions League football and attract some of the brightest stars in World Football next season. In fact, after a remarkable turnaround, Arsenal presently sit in sixth place but with games in hand on all of the five clubs above them. There are a lot of betting sites out there, that offering significantly favourable odds on Arsenal finishing within the top four this season ahead of Sp*rs and United. It is really hard to choose betting site. Therefore, we highly recommend you to check the most popular and trustful BettingTop10 Nigeria site that provide honest reviews about the bookies and help you with this decicion.

To further consolidate their march upward and aim for something more next season, Edu and company are in the market for only specific players that fit their vision for the team and one such young player the club are looking to sign is Palmeiras’ defensive midfielder Danilo.

According to reports from Bolavip (via HITC), Arsenal have already initiated talks to strike an early deal for Danilo. With over three months for the summer transfer window to open, this is very surprising. The North London club had Danilo on their radar during the winter transfer window as well, but no deal was finalised between the two clubs.

Arsenal know that it is not going to be easy to convince Palmeiras in letting go of 20-year-old midfielder. Earlier the Brazilian club had clearly stated their stance – Danilo is not available for any price. However, the report now states that the Brazilian club will be willing to hear offers for around €15million (£12.5million). This would also be an ideal price for the London club who have just reported annual losses to the tune of £107.3 million owing to the Pandemic.

In terms of the market, Arsenal have the advantage of Edu – who has deep knowledge about the Brazilian players – who earlier helped in bringing Martinelli to the club. With this ace up their sleeve, the fans hope Arsenal can secure the signing of the 20-year old come summer.

Arsenal target Danilo is a defensive midfielder and already has played 89 matches for Palmeiras at such a young age during which he has scored five goals and assisted five more. He also featured in the Club World Cup final against Chelsea and was also a part of the team that helped Palmeiras clinch the Copa Libertadores this year. In certain aspects, he is built in the mould N’Golo Kante which is a huge statement in itself. But the question arises if he is ready to play in England’s top division or can even make close to a similar impact that Kante has had.

Going by South American football expert Tim Vickery, that might not be the case anytime soon. Vickery believes it is impossible that Danilo can affect the Premier League immediately. He stated that the midfielder is a long-term impact, just like Albert Sambi Lokonga, and the club should look for another senior midfielder.

Arsenal board may plan to loan out Danilo after signing him, but £12.5million could then prove very expensive. However, the Brazilian media seem confirmed about Arsenal’s wish to sign the player immediately. More on this as it evolves.
