Here’s Geraint Hughes with an update from the Emirates…

“Denis Suarez was completed at noon and in terms of other potential deals, Ivan Perisic and Yannick Carrasco, they are not going to be coming to the Emirates today.

“In terms of outgoings, it was always going to revolve around their talented teenagers. Emile Smith Rowe, it is just about getting the paperwork done on his loan to Leipzig before 5pm tonight – it is earlier because that is when the window closes in Germany.”

✱ Arsenal’s Last moment move for Napoli defender foiled :

French reports suggest Kevin Malcuit was a target for the Gunners, but Napoli’s notoriously difficult negotiator Aurelio de Laurentiis stood firm over a deal.

Honestly move never seemed likely in the first place given how late this was initiated. Too bad Lichsteiner is all that we have left now.

✔ Tom Sang leaves United on loan

Manchester United academy midfielder has officially joined AFC Fylde on loan for the remainder of the season in what will be his first chance at professional football.

✱ Arsenal pull plug on Eddie Nketiah’s transfer to Germany

The young forward has had a string of options to move away on loan – including a deadline day switch to Augsburg in Germany

But Nketiah, 19, has been told he is still needed at the Emirates for the rest of the season after potential loan deals for both Ivan Perisic and Yannick Carrasco have failed to materialise.

EARLIER REPORT HERE –

Nketiah was the hero as he scored twice in the 2-1 EFL Cup win over Norwich the following month.

Meanwhile, Emile Smith Rowe, who is presently undergoing medical in Germany is on the verge of joining RB Leipzig on loan for the rest of the season.

✱ Just In : Reports in France suggest a deal for Nkunku may still be on.

PSG Midfielder, Christopher Nkunku still hoping for a last minute loan deal to Arsenal.

✱ United will wait to make Bergwijn bid :

Manchester United will wait until the summer before considering a bid for PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn, according to Sky Sports News.

The 21-year-old, who is valued in excess of £30m, has played a key part in PSV sitting five points clear at the top of Eredivisie.

According to reports, United prefer to hold on with the deal till the summer until United have a new permanent manager and a director of football before splashing the cash on the 21 year old.

EARLIER REPORT HERE –

✱ Latest on Emile Smith Rowe’s loan to RB Leipzig

Emile Smith Rowe is set to join Red Bull Leipzig on loan – but the Bundesliga club will not have an option to buy the 18-year-old this summer.

According to Evening Standard correspondent James Olley, Talks have been continuing today after the midfielder arrived in Germany last night to undergo a medical ahead of a proposed move.

Emile Smith Rowe seems set to follow in the footsteps of English Prodigy Reiss Nelson who has already set the Bundesliga alight after his move to Hoffeinheim at the start of the season.

✱ Denis Suarez in training on Day 1 :

More from Arsenal’s new recruit Denis Suarez about what he would like to achieve at Arsenal –

“I’ve come here to play as much as possible and try to help the team qualify for the Champions League. I’d like to win the Europa League with Arsenal too – why not? It’s a trophy I won under Unai Emery at Sevilla and I’d love to win it again here

“I have a very good relationship with him. I spent a year with him at Sevilla when we won the Europa League.
“I think he’s a very demanding coach and one of the best coaches in the world right now – I’ve been saying that for a while.
“I’m really happy to have the chance to work with him again and I hope that the rest of the season is successful for me and the club. I think he’s a great coach. That [his loan to Sevilla] was my first year playing football at the elite level – my first year in the top division.
“I improved a lot as a player thanks to him. He really helped me. I think he was a big part of the reason I was able to go back to Barcelona after leaving on loan.”

✱ Ole Gunnar Solskjaer meets former Man Utd chief David Gill on deadline day :

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer met United’s former chief executive David Gill for lunch on what has been a productive deadline day for the club.

Manchester United have been pretty active today after having already confirmed contract extension news for French striker Anthony Martial and having seen Marouane Fellaini jetting out to China on Thursday morning to finalise personal terms with Shandong Luneng Taishan.

The two of them will no doubt be reminiscing over days gone by over some Italian cuisine after being spotted for a lunch date over at Cibo Restaurant in Hale.

✱  Christopher Nkunku to Arsenal on Deadline Day seems unlikely :

It would appear it’s now all about Christopher Nkunku for Arsenal.

Paris St-Germain’s Nkunku remains a target but the deal looks unlikely.

Arsenal are still trying to finalise a move, but hope of him moving to Emirates Stadium has faded. PSG midfielder had hoped that a deal would go through in the last moment but a failure in reaching middle ground with the player’s valuation seems to have been the stumbling block for Arsenal and now a deal seems highly unlikely given the little time left.

Deals for Ivan Perisic and Yannick Carrasco are reportedly over, meaning the Gunners will attempt to strike a deal with PSG for their young midfielder.

✱  PSG linked with Ozil on Deadline Day

Paris Saint-Germain have made a Deadline Day loan move for Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil, according to reports in France. This comes on the backdrop of Neymar’s possible long term injury which will keep him out of both the Champions League clashes against Manchester United.

But it seems that the former German international has turned down their advances to stay at the Emirates as he simply does not prefer a loan move away or any move at all for that matter.

Ozil made his first appearance for Arsenal in their win over Cardiff City and he was given the captain’s armband.

✱  Marcus Rashford In High Demand on Deadline Day :

Reports suggest that Real Madrid are planning a £100m move for Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford.

The England striker is currently in talks with the club about a possible long term extension

Madrid meanwhile could look to force the issue with a reported last minute mega bid for Rashford on deadline day.

Rashford has come into form under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and United are confident he will stay at the club.

✔ Arsenal Officially Confirm Denis Suarez Transfer :

? DEAL DONE: Arsenal have officially completed the signing of Denis Suárez on loan for the rest of the season.

Denis Suarez will wear number 22 at Arsenal, following in the footsteps of the likes of Oleg Luzhny, Gael Clichy and Yaya Sanogo.

Unai Emery Reaction on securing first deadline day transfer-

“We are very happy that Denis Suarez is joining us. He is a player we know well and I have worked with him at Sevilla. He brings us quality and options in many different attacking positions, so he’ll be able to help the team.”

CONFIRMED NEWS HERE :

✔ Anthony Martial has signed a deal with Manchester United until June 2024

Anthony Martial has signed a contract extension with Manchester United which will keep him at the club until June 2024, with the option to extend for a further year.

#Deadline Day Deal Done

Speaking about his extension Martial said:

“I am loving my time at this club.  From the day I joined I have been made to feel part of the United family and I have been incredibly humbled and overwhelmed by the warmth and love of our fans, who continue to amaze me with their support.

“I would like to thank Ole and his coaching staff for their belief in me and for helping me to take my game to the next level.  This club is all about winning trophies and I am sure the next piece of silverware is not that far away.”

✱  Negotiations stalled over a move for Yannick Carrasco on Deadline Day.

Arsenal look set to miss out on their desired second winger with deals for Ivan Perisic and Yannick Carrasco off.

Emery is keen to add another winger to his squad before tonight’s deadline and Carrasco had emerged as the most likely candidate after a deal for Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic hit the buffers and his agent had come out claiming ‘anything is possible’

However the Gunners’ loan fee offered to Chinese club Dalian Yifang for Carrasco, 25, was deemed too low and a move seems off the table right now.

The Italian club had insisted they receive a £35million fee this month but Arsenal are only pursuing loan deals for the time being as they are reluctant to commit a significant portion of their summer budget now.
