Premier League side Crystal Palace are believed to be keen on landing Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal
According to reports, the Eagles are fighting for the signature of Eddie Nketiah with a couple of other clubs across Europe. Palace manager Patrick Vieira is keen to add the Englishman to his ranks and strengthen his team, who have taken just a point from their opening two league games.
The striker has made 65 appearances for the Gunners since making his debut under Arsene Wenger in 2017. During that time, he has failed to match the scoring records that he set at the academy level, with only 13 goals and one assist to his name so far.
Consequently, the England U21 international has failed to nail down a place in Arsenal’s first-team and with a year left on his current deal at North London, Arsenal are looking to cash in on him. The North London outfit have already tied down youngster Folarin Balogun to a new long-term deal. This certainly means that the writing is on the wall for Nketiah’s career at Arsenal.
As per a previous report from The Athletic, Crystal Palace are ready to pay a fee in the region of £10m for Eddie Nketiah, but the Gunners rejected the offer and are willing to offload the forward only if clubs meet their asking price of £20m. Given that he is just 22-years-old and has a prolific academy record at Arsenal and with England’s youth team, he will certainly attract many eyeballs.

Several German clubs are also reportedly tracking him and are even believed to have launched numerous bids already, which the Gunners have rejected. Arsenal are fixated on their asking price for the player and they believe the offers they have received so far aren’t good enough.
However, according to the most recent reports from The Sun, the Eagles are preparing a second offer of around £12m to sign the youngster and they believe that a deal can be struck between the clubs before the transfer window shuts on August 31st.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are also looking to balance the books, having already forked out the most cash in the league, a whopping £129m. Apart from Eddie Nketiah, the Gunners are also looking to offload the likes of Runar Alex Runarsson, Sead Kolasinac, Hector Bellerin, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Reiss Nelson, Willian, and Alexander Lacazette.
If they can raise a considerable fee from their departures, it won’t be surprising if Arsenal continue the squad overhaul, with additions at problematic positions such as right-back and centre-forward. If they don’t, the club’s supporters would be expecting a long season ahead, especially after witnessing defeats against Brentford and Chelsea.
