Four Wins In Last Four Premier League Matches For Arsenal As They Gain Momentum Ahead Of A Busy Schedule

Everton,Arsedevils

Arsenal registered their fourth win of the Premier League 2018-19 campaign with a deserved 2-0 victory over Everton at the Emirates on Sunday lunchtime. Gunners managed to keep their first clean sheet of the season on Sunday, and manager Unai Emery will be delighted to see Aubameyang and Lacazette both get on the scoresheet.

The Gunners came out on top on the day with their key strikers making the headlines, but the scoreline doesn’t tell the whole story of the game, as Everton made life difficult for the North Londoners for majority of the game, and it was only due to Petr Cech’s Man of the match performance, that Arsenal bagged all the 3 points.

Cech was outstanding against Everton, as he palmed away every shot on target ,Richarlison one being the most significant. His handling and shot stopping was exceptional and the veteran deserved his clean sheet against Everton, showing why he still gets a nod ahead of Bernd Leno at Arsenal.

Unai Emery and his men have now won four in four games and now sit sixth on the Premier League table, two points ahead of Manchester United, as they recovered from the losses against Manchester City and Chelsea in the opening two games of the season.

Emery started Arsenal fan favourite Lucas Torreira in place of the teenager Matteo Guendouzi, alongside Granit Xhaka for shielding the defense, and the Uruguay International did not disappoint with his display. He was constantly involved in interceptions, tackles, long balls and duels, ensuring that he took complete charge at the base of midfield, giving Xhaka more freedom to play to his strength against Everton.

The Swiss-Uruguay partnership seems to work for the Gunners, and it was only due to the cohesive duo, that Arsenal delivered a complete peformance and dominated Everton in the midfield region. Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey and Aubameyang started in front three with Lacazette in the number 9 role, and the striking force did not disappoint.

Ramsey provided the assists for the two front men, as Lacazette came up with a brilliant top corner finish to give Arsenal the lead vs Everton, and two minutes later, Aubameyang made it 2-0 after an easy tap in. Aubameyang and Lacazette have both scored in three of the last five Premier League games they have started together, and it is safe to say the Gunners have finally kick-started their season, and will want to keep this run going.

After Everton win, Arsenal now have different competitions to look at, with Europa league and the League cup in midweek, and they need to have a full squad going into this, to ensure their Premier League campaign is not compromised. The Gunners now host Brentford in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, with high flyers Watford visiting the Emirates on Saturday and Europa action to follow. So the time is less and there is lots for Emery and his men to tackle.

But the foundation has been laid and with the starting eleven gaining stability, courtesy of Everton win and particularly with the form their two strikers are in, the atmosphere around the Emirates is positive and the fans are looking forward to their team maintaining same level of display in the weeks to come.
