Things are looking good thus far under the dynamic duo of Edu and Arteta with three very decent additions to the squad in Ben White, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares, but without sounding like the family member who complained about their gift at Christmas, a really high-quality right-back is absolutely essential at Arsenal, more so as rumours of Hector Bellerin leaving grows stronger.
With the suggestion of Bellerin leaving Arsenal, this would leave Mikel Arteta with a choice between Chambers, Cedric or if he doesn’t leave Maitland-Niles for the right-back position. Even if you could take a piece from all three and wove them together, you wouldn’t have the finished article.

Bellerin might have lost pace, motivation and confidence, but I’d take him over the other three every day of the week, therefore, in my opinion, we need a right-back more urgently than we need another forward.
Rumours of Tammy Abraham’s arrival at the Emirates has puzzled many including myself because a striker is not a priority. Arsenal need a keeper, that’s a no-brainer and a creative midfielder without a doubt, but we also need a credible right-back to prevent it from becoming open season down the right flank.
I wish Arteta would revert to a 4-4-2 because a back three has had mixed results and on occasion, it’s been dreadful with the likes of Holding, Luiz and Mari. Holding on the right of a three or a four is a sight to behold and I’m sad to say that the writing is well and truly on the wall for the former Stoke man.

Emerson Royal, Max Aarons, Tariq Lamptey or Zelig Celik are all rumoured to be on the shopping list, but Arteta needs to avoid making do next season in a crucial position or he may regret it quickly. Cedric has had a few good games in the position as has Chambers, but not enough to suggest that money doesn’t need to be spent.
Whom should we buy? Should Bellerin stay? Whom would you trust if we don’t buy – Chambers or Cedric?
