Timothy Fosu Mensah is a Manchester United defender currently on loan at Fulham. The Dutch International has struggled to impress the new manager Claudio Ranieri at Craven Cottage and is very likely to be return to Old Trafford for the rest of the season.
The London based club are set to terminate the 21-year old’s loan spell in order to recruit other players to save their sinking season. Timothy Fosu-Mensah has so far made 8 appearances including 7 starts for them.
Fulham is struggling at the 19th position in the Premier League with a potential relegation looming. And a major reason for their struggles includes their below ordinary defense. Ranieri’s men have conceded 47 goals already this season in just 21 games and are looking to let go their loan players to free up space for other defenders.

Timothy Fosu Mensah came to Manchester United with very high expectations as a young, promising 18-year-old defender. But he could never live up to those expectations. The young defender has struggled for starts at Manchester United ever since arriving at the club.
The then manager Jose Mourinho preferred more proven defenders in the form of Luke Shaw, Victor Lindelof, Eric Baily, and Marcus Rojo. Moreover, the very recent FC Porto recruit, Diogo Dalot has just made life even more difficult for The Dutch. Consistent impressive performances from the young Portuguese has shown that he is certainly a future first team material and minimized chances for other young talents like Timothy Fosu-Mensah himself.
Before this season, The Dutch was sent on a season-long loan to Crystal Palace. But, unlike the current loan spell, the one at Palace was a more successful one for him. He earlier struggled for minutes but after impressing performances off the bench, he was promoted to the starting role and impressed with the club.
Timothy Fosu Mensah had 21 appearances in the Premier League for the Eagles which included 17 starts as well. He was expected to stay with The Reds on his return from Palace, but the signing of Diogo Dalot made the 21-year-old set for another loan spell.
What’s Latest On Manchester United:
Timothy Fosu-Mensah is likely to return to his parent club Manchester United in the winter transfer window but it will be interesting to see if he is made to stay or sent on another loan spell.
Manchester United are currently in fine form winning 4 Premier League games on a trot. So, its unlikely he will be made to stay and experimented in their stable-looking defense. Another loan looks on the cards for The Dutch defender.
