How Matteo Guendouzi Is Displaying The Exact Qualities That Can Very Well Make Him An Arsenal Legend

Signing,Arsedevils

The 19 years old Matteo Guendouzi was lured away from Lorient for £8 million and was still a work in progress as far as the transfer was concerned. That doesn’t reflect on his game anymore. He is close to earning an international recognition and there are speculations being made on whether Deschamps would give an opportunity to this young, talented individual before the onset of the Euro Qualifiers atleast.

According to http://football.london the new Arsenal’s head coach, Unai Emery, when asked about Guendouzi in an interview, he said,

“It is a very big, positive surprise with him.

He is improving. He is playing and working every day. He is hungry – he wants to improve, he wants to learn every day, every match.

He is doing it his way, with character and quality. We are very happy with him but every match is a chance to show this progress with consistency.”

Guendouzi has started all 4 games this seasons and we are expecting him to be a regular figure in the squad for Arsenal for the years to come. Surprisingly, he has been picked over the much-more famous Uruguayan teammate Lucas Torreira who shined at the World Cup leaving Ronaldo to eat the dust. This is mainly due to the fact that he had an amazing pre-season friendlies along with Emil Smith Rowe(a teenager) in Singapore.

According to http://dailystar.co.uk, Guendouzi said,

[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]

“I had a good pre-season, I was illustrated during the preparation matches in Singapore,”

“I think it weighed in the balance and it gave me the opportunity to start the league games.

“I knew how to answer this. It’s up to me to keep working so that the team can win as many games as possible.

“In any case, at Arsenal, I have everything to progress. And we have everything to make a great season.”

“It’s another world,”

“Arsenal is a historic club, beautiful, world famous, one of the best in Europe with big stars in the team.”

– Matteo Guendouzi[/perfectpullquote]

Arsenal managed to scrape two wins out of the four games that have been played in the Premier League. The narrow loss at Chelsea suggested the good days coming in. But it was too soon to say that, when at Cardiff, Arsenal found an 81st minute goal to stay on top of the Bluebirds.

He seemed to carry out the form of the pre-season friendlies into the Premier League. He was also voted as the Arsenal’s player of the month of August.

His adaptability into this format of the game in a short span of time, suggests his form and physique have been spot on to deliver at one of the biggest stages of Football ever. He shows his skill and displays his show on the field, where he likes to keep the ball, drop deep and receive it from the defense and then, look for the other teammates. Kind of like a quarterback role in American Football.

He is capable of wonders and he is still to grow; with lot of years ahead of him, he can become an Arsenal Legend No.29.

  1. Totally agree. Guendouzi looks , fingers crossed , as if he will be a great addition with all the potential to become a fan favourite and a legend at the club.
What I like about him is his emotional commitment to a game. Joyous when winning but angry and frustrated when things go wrong.
That passion has been missing from so many performances over recent years and was probably an area where Wenger needed to get the team to improve generally.
