As the recent troubles have started to somewhat barge in on the beautiful start Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had to life at Old Trafford, it is no secret that United attack is finding it difficult to get the team ahead or to win games on their own. Their recent display away at Wolves which resulted in their shocking FA Cup exit following a 2-1 defeat proved that they need some firepower in the front and are reportedly behind Inter Milan ace Icardi.

It was clearly a deserving victory for Wolves who were better on the night. United must have realized they want a new target man as the inconsistent display of Lukaku won’t help their needs and they clearly are interested in signing Icardi.
The Argentine is expected to leave the San Siro this summer after being stripped of the captaincy and falling out with club hierarchy in Milan. Icardi has scored 15 goals for Inter Milan this season in all competitions but off-field issues between the club and his wife, who is also his agent, has resulted in him falling down the pecking order.
Icardi is one of the most feared strikers in Europe and is valued at over £100M by Inter. According to Spanish media outlet AS, Inter Milan’s troubled forward Mauro Icardi will be available for $90.2milliom (£68 million) in the summer with the Red Devils along with Serie A duo Napoli and Juventus deemed to be chasing the Argentina international.
With Ole expected to becoming United’s next manager and reportedly wanting “4 new arrivals”, who do you expect United to sign? Thoughts?
1. Koulibaly, Fernandes, Icardi, Pepe
2. Dias, Felix, Ndombele, Meunier
3. Sancho, Skriniar, Wan Bissaka, Lozano
4. Dybala, Rabiot #MUFC pic.twitter.com/zNNHsgtWG9

The Red Devils have a long-held interest in the Argentine but would have to shift Romelu Lukaku off the books to make way for Icardi as the Belgian forward does cause United to pay a serious wage bill. Lukaku has just scored four goals in his last two Premier League outings but still remains unfit for the football that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants the players to play at Old Trafford.
Moreover, Icardi who has been the captain at Inter doesn’t fall short of Leadership qualities. And when you have a team of Super Talented youngsters, a player of Icardi’s qualities is required to trigger the enthusiasm and determination during pressure situations.
Koulibaly/Alderweireld
Wan-Bissaka/Meunier
Ndombele/Rabiot
Neves/Rakitic
Sancho/Pepe

Icardi can play as a false nine or as a target man and wherever he plays, he assures Goals. So, if United could get a swap deal done, it would surely benefit the team. Icardi being a prolific goalscorer would assure Solskjaer of 20-39 goals per season, which is rare nowadays.
