Injury Update: Ibrahimovic and Pogba Could Return For Newcastle Clash

According to sources in England, good news springs up for Manchester United as Pogba and Ibrahimovic could make their comeback sooner than expected.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been out of action since April due to a double knee injury he suffered in the Europa League win over Anderlecht.

The Swedish striker succumbed to a ligament-knee injury which nearly finished his career but the officials at Manchester United are amazed at his recovery.

Meanwhile, Paul Pogba was withdrawn from the Champions League win over FC Basel with only 19 minutes into the match. Pogba suffered a hamstring injury which has kept him out of action since September.

But the Red Devils received a sudden boost with news sources claiming the return of both Pogba and Ibrahimovic to first team football.

According to the news outlet Manchester Evening News, Ibrahimovic is on the brink of return to first team action much sooner than expected.

The veteran striker  in on the verge of a return to boost United’s title challenge after being off the field for nearly seven months.

According to Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, Ibrahimovic’s return is fueled by anger and his eagerness to be on the field.

When asked about the Swede, Jose Mourinho told:

“He is a lion, he is a fighter,”

“He has the anger all the time and that’s the reason why he’s almost coming back.”

“He’s reduced the timing of his recovery and he will be back in 2017, which is a magnificent recovery.

The Swedish striker has been back at the Carrington for a number of weeks now as reported by the Daily Mail.

Ibrahimovic has been training with the first team and his progress is quite astonishing as medical reports suggested his return not earlier than 2018.

Meanwhile, Manchester United’s costliest player is also back in training at Carrington after completing his treatment in Miami.

Just before the international break, ESPN suggested that Pogba might return to first team action after the international break.

Pogba has been providing updates by posting video clips on social media of his training and rehabilitation from the hamstring injury.

However, news from Metro claim that Ibrahimovic and Pogba are pushing for a place in the squad for the Premier League game against Newcastle United.

The return of both the players would be a great boost for the Red Devils with Manchester City being 8 points ahead of the United.

Jose Mourinho has expressed the requirement of his injured players specially Pogba and Ibrahimovic in the coming months during the busy festive weeks.

Jose Mourinho told MUTV:

“They have to work every day but they are in a good position now. Pogba, Ibra, Rojo, Fellaini. They are in good positions so I think we can go into this part of the season, the Christmas period, and after, in a strong position.”

Jose Mourinho and his men would surely want to close the gap with city rivals and go on for the title challenge.

Moreover, United players seems to be in good form as the Premier League resumes. Romelu Lukaku, Victor Lindelof and Anthony Martial have helped their respective countries to win.

Also, Antonio Valencia, Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera got good rest as they were kept out of their respective country squads.

After all this time, it seems that United are going to be back as they started the season.

This will surely be received by the supporters of Manchester United as good news.

Hope Manchester United go up for the Premier League title challenge.
