Despite his stellar performances for Aston Villa, he remains only a probable candidate at best to get a call-up for England in their upcoming tournaments. Playing for a club of a higher calibre than Aston Villa gives the midfielder a greater chance to showcase consistency and also stake his claim with more authority.
