5 Key Players Who Will Prove To Be Extremely Crucial Against Vorskla This Europa League Game

Bernd Leno should feature in Europa League

Arsenal are on a high, winning last 3 Premier League games in a row under the new boss Unai Emery. Arsenal were cruising through in last match against Newcastle United that looked to be capitalized since the freekick from Granit Xhaka and a rolling shot by Mesut Ozil seemed to ease the chances of another victory which was inevitable, until a consolation goal by Ciaran Clark in the dying minutes of the game increased their chances of scouring a point. Gunners were not convincing as the score ended at 2-1. Next is opening Europa League fixture against Vorskla on Thursday night.

With the Europa League fast approaching this Thursday, it could act as a platform for many Gunners who have yet to impress the new gaffer.

Some key potential players who could feature in this week’s game against the Ukrainian club Vorskla:

Bernd Leno

Leno can still be a major pick during the recent summer transfer season. As Petr Cech is coming to age and it is the job of Emery to keep his second choice keeper ready to take the reins of the veteran goalkeeper once he attains his limit. Leno will get this chance to prove his worth to the Gooners and if he does impress the new boss, there could be a slight prospect of him starting in a Premier League game for the North Londoners.

Rob Holding

Holding hasn’t been given an opportunity in league games, lately and so, this Europa League could be the time where he could finally find his calling. He has had a lot of positives and negatives during his career at the Emirates, he has been able to deliver by being a potential starter. But what is lacking, is the experience for him to convert the potential to a regular starter to the club. Hopefully, the Europa League paves a new bright path into the young lad’s stay at London.

Alex Iwobi

Iwobi has returned from an illness that prevailed since last month due to which he had to pull away from international duty with Nigeria last week. His father has reported that he was fit enough to play against Newcastle two days ago. His form in the pre-season games and his goal in the Premier League was a memorable one. He also extended his stay at the Emirates by signing a 4 years extension of his current contract. This only means he needs to deliver more, which could be achieved by proving a point to Emery during the Europa League campaign.

Stephan Lichtsteiner

The Swiss international was a steal from Juventus as it was a free transfer. He has got to showcase his talents only for one game during the Premier League and his added valuable assets of him being the Swiss captain could bring a lot of that serious mentality into the dressing room which could be observed in the game.

Danny Welbeck

The Englishman who came from the Reds in Manchester, can be a major role in this Europa League campaign. Especially if Unai has to set his targets to Champions League spot next season, he needs to add the flavour of Welbeck in the games, so that he gets more time on the pitch rather than observing them from the bench. Being such a wasted talent in the Premier League, he can hope to cement his place in the Europa League squad while stars like Lacazette and Aubameyang could be rested for their next game against Everton this Sunday.
