A Fight for Dignity | 4-3-3 With Wan-Bissaka, Matic & Rashford – Team News & Predicted Line-Up | How United’s Starting XI Would Look Like Against Liverpool

Liverpool Vs Man United, Manchester United

Manchester United travel to Merseyside facing Liverpool in what is expected to offer a lip-smacking affair at Anfield tonight. Having secured a tenacious three points against Norwich City last weekend, the Red Devils will be keen on causing an upset at Anfield whilst the hosts will be looking to avoid any hiccups in their race for the Premier League title.

A one-sided 5-0 drubbing of United at Old Trafford in November saw the Reds set a benchmark for expectations and standards in their previous league meeting. However, with Manchester United yet to resolve their inconsistent form and plug their weaknesses, Liverpool remain favourites for a comfortable three points on Tuesday. Nevertheless, with the visitors just three points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, Ralf Rangnick’s side will be keen on securing a favourable result at Anfield.

Manchester United remain without the services of Raphael Varane, Fred, and Scott McTominay for the trip to Liverpool, whilst Edinson Cavani and Luke Shaw could potentially miss out on the remainder of the season. Nemanja Matic and Marcus Rashford are likely to return to the starting line-up while Paul Pogba could potentially miss out on a spot on Tuesday.

Defenders

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RB): With United expected to sustain pressure against Liverpool’s attacks, Wan-Bissaka is likely to slot into the right-back spot for the visitors. Yet to deliver a convincing performance since dropping to the bench, the full-back will be keen on delivering a notable performance at Anfield.

Harry Maguire (RCB): Having delivered a relatively improved performance against Norwich, Maguire will be keen on contributing an impactful display on Tuesday. Expected to be heavily scrutinised over the coming fixtures, the Englishman will be hoping to find promising form over the coming weeks.

Alex Telles (LB): Having struggled to cope with Norwich’s attacking transitions last Saturday, Telles will be expected to deliver a convincing defensive performance on Tuesday. With Luke Shaw unlikely to return for the remainder of the fixtures, the Brazilian will be keen on contributing to the team’s prospects over the coming weeks.

Midfielders

Nemanja Matic (CDM): Having delivered a promising cameo against Norwich, Matic is likely to return to the starting line-up for the trip to Anfield. Undeniably the team’s most composed midfielders, the Serbian’s contributions will be critical to the visitors’ chances of securing points against the Reds on Tuesday.
