Casemiro Red Card Forces Ten Hag’s Men to Settle for a Goalless Draw | Player Ratings – Man United Vs Southampton

A gruelling outing saw Man United settle for an underwhelming 0-0 draw against Southampton as the Red Devils dropped points for a second consecutive league game on Sunday. Whilst influenced by varying refereeing decisions, the hosts failed to find a winning goal despite their dominance, although, Erik Ten Hag’s side remains keen on strengthening their position in the top-four moving forward.

Having dominated the game from the first whistle, United ensured they emerged as the imposing side in front of goal, although the hosts struggled to find the back of the net on the afternoon. Despite threatening the opposition’s goal before the break, a controversial red card decision saw Casemiro sent off in the 34th minute, with United partly ceasing control of the game with ten outfield players for the remainder of the tie at Old Trafford.

A proactive second half saw Southampton create numerous opportunities in front of goal, although the visitors failed to convert against Man United on the afternoon. With the Red Devils posing an impressive defensive performance, the hosts ensured they settled for a point on Sunday, with Ten Hag expected to look forward to securing three points in their next Premier League fixture.
