Man Utd Ready To Lock Horns With Juventus And Bayern For Nikola Milenkovic

Milenkovic

Manchester United are defender, Nikola Milenkovic and are hoping to sign him in January to ease their defensive woes.

After having an unsuccessful run in the summer transfer window, United are in for getting some big names to the squad during the upcoming winter transfer window. Milenkovic has been having a spectacular season so far and it’s not just the Red Devils who are looking to reel him in. Clubs like Bayern Munich and Juventus are all the more interested in this young prospect.

According to Calciomercato, Fiorentina would not be accepting a sum less than £44 million for the defender.

Ever since the start of the season, Jose Mourinho has been trying to bring some strength to the defense. Milenkovic looks to be a good fit for United’s squad as he is versatile and strong. He is often compared to the likes of Nemanja Vidic, for his great height and aggressive style of play.

However, the English giants face a huge obstacle as Juventus and Bayern are more likely to be favourites in signing him. Tuttosport claim that both, Juve and the Bavarians have a 35% chance of having him signed in the upcoming transfer window. On the other hand, United have only a 25% chance of bringing him to Old Trafford.

In an interview with Tuttosport, the 21-year-old states that he would stay at Fiorentina to foster his growth and to develop his talents.

“I’ve got my feet on the ground, believe in professionalism and am focused only on improving every day, glad to wear the Viola jersey.

“Fiorentina is the ideal club for a young player to grow up and I am very satisfied with my choice to play here. If they were to offer me a new contract, we could talk about it.”

The serbian is certainly an exciting player. At such a young age he is being watched by best clubs in Europe. His vigour and dedication would help United’s defensive in a lot of ways. The main problem lies in trying to get him in, chasing a young prospect is quite a difficult task. The Manchester outfit would have set the bar higher than the other clubs if they are really keen on bringing him in.
