At last, Manchester United confirmed their capture of Aaron Wan Bissaka from Crystal Palace this weekend for a whopping initial fee of £50 million with a further £5 million of add-ons.
The U-21 England international is United’s the second summer signing as they have already signed Daniel James from Swansea for a reported fee of £18 million. Wan Bissaka has reportedly signed a five-year deal with the Red Devils with the club having an option of extending it further a year.

After the departure of Antonio Valencia, and Ashley Young becoming no younger, the right-back position was a priority for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Even though the negotiations took a while, Ed Woodward wrapped up the deal for the club.
The 21-year-old is yet to play for the senior side of the Three Lions. Nevertheless Solskjaer’s side broke the bank for Crystal Palace youth product. The fullback enjoyed a breakthrough season over the course of the previous campaign at Selhurst Park.
With the signing of the teenager, Solskjaer has once again re-iterated that the young players with high work ethics are his priority. In a press conference, the gaffer stated:
“He has the right work ethic, talent and mentality to play for Manchester United and he fits exactly the type of player that we are looking to bring into the squad to help us improve and push on further.
“Aaron is a young, hungry player and eager to learn and that’s important at his age.
“I am delighted he has signed with us and we look forward to continuing his tremendous development so far.”
Wan-Bissaka is expected to earn weekly wages worth £80,000-per-week including all bonuses. This is 1000 times more than what he used to earn at Palace. Last season, the England youth international made 35 appearances for the Eagles. The defender racked up 3 goals and 4 assists and also topped the lists for tackles and interceptions. It seems to be interesting whether he will be an upgrade to the current right-back at the club.
