Manchester United Vs Young Boys Predicted XI

young boys, Manchester United, Arsedevils

The Manchester United squad have arrived at their Hilton Hotel base ahead of their Champions League tie against Young Boys.

And though the clash looks heavily in favour of the home side, Jose Mourinho seems to have brought a very strong squad with him, likely in an attempt to raise their deteriorating confidence.

So far, out of the ones that have made the trip to the hotel, goalkeepers David de Gea, Sergio Romero and Lee Grant, defenders Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Antonio Valencia and Luke Shaw, midfielders Scott McTominay, Fred, Andreas Pereira, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic, Marouane Fellaini and Paul Pogba, and forwards Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have been confirmed by Manchester Evening News to have made the journey.

With that, let’s see what line-up could have the potential to secure a win against Young Boys.

Goalkeeper: Sergio Romero

The Argentine is in desperate need of game time and seems to have fallen completely out of favour under Mourinho.

However, since the visitors carry only a humble reputation, it wouldn’t be a surprise if De Gea were to be rested this time around.

Defenders: Antonio Valencia, Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly and Luke Shaw

Since the Red Devils’ defensive options aren’t very luxurious to begin with, the usual back-four can be expected to be deployed by the Portuguese boss this time around as well.

And with Diogo Dalot not having been confirmed to be selected for the squad facing the Swiss side, his involvement seems unlikely. Though it would’ve been good to see a young talent make an appearance at Old Trafford.

Midfielders: Andreas Pereira, Paul Pogba and Fred

If Jose wishes Pereira to be the player he shows the potential to be right now, only thing that can mature him into that would be game-time. Tonight’s opposition seems perfect for the youngster to get some minutes under his belt, especially in the Champions League.

Pogba will inject lethality into attack and meanwhile Fred will provide security in midfield.

Forwards: Marcus Rashford, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial

Lukaku is in desperate need of confidence and having a good outing against a fairly easier opponent would definitely offer him that. And the freshness the youngsters Martial and Rashford bring in will surely test the opposition defense well. That coupled with the Frechman’s form, it seems like we could see a few goals tonight.
