Arsenal and Manchester United Among Several Clubs to Have Made Contact With €40m Rated Serie A Forward

Paulo Dybala, Arsenal, United

According to ESPN, Arsenal and Manchester United are among the clubs who have made contact with the representatives of Paulo Dybala regarding a summer transfer. Both Premier League clubs are looking to strengthen their frontline and have identified the Argentinian as an option.

Dybala will become a free agent at the end of the season as he has rejected Juventus’s latest contract offer and they won’t go beyond it. Several clubs have lined up to get the signature of the Argentine attacker, including Inter Milan, Liverpool, PSG, etc.

Dybala has been part of the Turin side for over six years now and has enjoyed a successful stint. In 290 appearances, the Argentinian has scored 115 goals and assisted 48 times so far (stats via transfermarkt), but has suffered inconsistencies in the past few seasons. However, he has picked up the pace once again, scoring 15 and assisting 6 times across all competitions this season in 36 games.

Having flirted with the Manchester club before, Dybala is once again in the same headline as United recently. The Red Devils will be looking to bolster their attack as the 22/23 season rolls around. Players like Edinson Cavani and Jesse Lingard are expected to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season. 37-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo will remain as the sole striker for the club, with out-of-favour Marcus Rashford as an option on the bench.

La Joya is no stranger to the veteran Portuguese as the two linked up together for Juventus before Cristiano made his move to Man United at the beginning of the season. Erik ten Hag is expected to perform a total overhaul of this dismal United side when he takes over the reins next season and the 28-year-old forward could very well be a part of that.

Arsenal, Man United, and Newcastle are monitoring the situation around Paulo Dybala very closely. The Argentine had almost completed a move to the Premier League two seasons ago when a deal between Tottenham and the player was agreed. But, the transfer couldn’t be finalised due to the two sides not being able to come to an agreement about the player’s image rights.

Like Manchester United, Arsenal could also be without key forward players such as Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah next season as their contracts are about to end soon. With other high-profile strikers also on their radar, Dybala could be a valuable addition to Arteta’s team.

However, reports in Italy suggest that Dybala is almost certainly on his way to Inter. According to the Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport (via Daily Mail), Dybala has made up his mind to join the Nerazzurri, where he is set to earn €6 million per season. An advantage that the Nerazzurri have is that their CEO Beppe Marotta was the one who brought the young Argentine from Palermo to Juve, and they both share a good relationship.

It is exciting to see where Dybala ends up when the transfer window opens. A change that has seemed two seasons too late may well be happening soon, with so many clubs keeping an eye out for the stylish Juve forward.
