The Premier League has always been one of, if not the best, leagues in the world since it’s inception, making it an ideal place for superstars to migrate to in order to flourish their careers. And according to El Chiringuito, Raphael Varane could follow that trend and make a switch to England.
As per the report, the Frenchman has been considering his future at Real Madrid for quite some time and has now finally told his higher-ups of his plans of moving on. Varane is reportedly aiming for a switch this summer.
On the other hand, Galacticos boss Zinedine Zidane has publicly admitted of his desires to keep the World Cup winner at the Santiago Bernabeu. From what can be gathered from his words, Zidane clearly knows Varane’s worth and ability and would prefer not to lose him. Moreover, it seems like the gaffer out-right denies all reports of his colleague wanting to depart the Spanish capital.
“I can tell you he is very happy here,” said the former French international. “He has been here eight years, has done phenomenal so far.
“I don’t see him as people have said recently, he looks happy and committed in what he is doing.”
Meanwhile, Manchester United are desperate to land a strong centre-back to ease their defensive woes and are in the market with a massive budget to plug their leaks. As per Metro, the Red Devils would be willing to pay up to £100 million to import the French international. Additionally, the newly appointed boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be a big fan of the centre-back and would be thrilled to have him in his roster.

This is not the first time Varane has been linked to United; and should he make a formal transfer request to Los Blancos, the English giants are ready to move in with a bid for their long-term target.
However, Solskjaer’s side are not alone in their pursuit to sign the 25-year-old as Manchester City, Juventus, Chelsea and Liverpool are all looking to secure his services. Which would only make it interesting to see what the defender would choose — money, potential or an easy path.
