Credit goes to the Old Trafford hierarchy that decided to give cult hero Ole Gunnar a chance to manage the club as the result is here for all to see.
On this note, we evaluate three observations from United’s 5-1 thumping of Cardiff City in the Premier League.
Top Quality Goals
Manchester United might have won in Solskjaer’s first game in charge but the real gist is beyond just the three points they attained in the fixture. The Red Devils sparked off to life and put five past Neil Warnock’s men with 3 goals in the first half and 2 other coming after the intermission.
The quality of those goals is the one that catches the eye as the club faithful may well have seen a glimpse of what to expect from the Red Devils along in the season.
The manner of execution is one thing that will stimulate hope and confidence as Rashford(free-kick) and Ander Herrera scored from range to lead the goal riot against the hosts.
Renewed Team Spirit
The level of attitude United players exhibited against Cardiff was second to none as they made it look little easy on the pitch. This is a sign of revival as Manchester United seeks to recover lost ground especially in the Premier League.
The players were responsive on the pitch as even Rashford was seen defending though it led to a handball for a Cardiff penalty which was converted for 1-2 by Victor Camarasa. The team unity and character was evident in the build up to Martial’s goals for United’s third in the game as they celebrated among each other with keen desired to make the different for United on the pitch.
Pogba at His Best
The French man was widely talked about with press in the regards to his relationship with Jose Mourinho.
His performance on the pitch has been on the spot light for quite a while now. This has seen United struggle in midfield at some point this season. His low key input on the pitch led to him been ousted from the starting eleven as he was seen a couple of times sitting behind Mourinho on the bench.
With his showing against Cardiff everyone at United will be delighted as he played his part in three of United goals in the match. We hope to see the French man doing what he knows how to do best for United in midfield as he is key to their revival at a time like this in the season.
