Cardiff City faced off with Manchester United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with series of expectations attached to the fixture.

It was a frenetic afternoon as (good) football lovers was satisfied watching both sides in the entire 90 minutes. However, it was the visitors that claimed the 3 points in emphatic fashion as Solskjaer kick start his caretaker role at Manchester United.

With the Red Devils grabs 5-1 away win, we take a look at the significant features from last Saturday fixture.

Perfect Start for Solskjaer

United began a new era under Solskjaer with an emphatic 5 -1 win on the road. This was preceded by the departure of Charismatic manager Jose Mourinho. There was the need for Solskjaer to get the three points in his maiden match in charge of the club.

This he did in superb style as his wards were electric on the pitch; thus tearing apart host Cardiff as United produced 5 goals in the space of 90 minutes.

Solskjaer wouldn’t have asked for more as this score will give him the atmosphere to assert himself ahead of the next game at homes.

Biggest Win For United

Manchester United might have had to endure different fortunes at the club since the exit of Scottish manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to bring back the desired result to the Old Trafford ground. Jose Mourinho and series of other managers have managed the club but until Solskjaer came, United had not scored 5 times in a (single) game.

This is a sign of positivity to come as United dealt a huge blow to Cardiff’s interest in the tie.

Impressive/Massive Response from the Players

The entire Manchester United eleven (on the pitch) were superb as they mauled Cardiff at home in the scintillating encounter. This was seen as De Gea did well to make crucial save in the goal for their visitors.

The players rallied round each other as the team collectively produced a third goal as Martial finished past the goalie to make it 3-1.

How about Rashford’s free-kick which lightened up the room early on for the Red Devils at Cardiff?

Caretaker manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer would be delighted with his teams input in the match (performance) as the players responded to the need in his first game in charge for the club.
