Manchester United vs Chelsea, Man United

Today, we compile the Manchester United player ratings from a decent performance that saw them salvage a draw against Chelsea. The Red Devils registered their first points in three league outings on Thursday. Despite being expected to be handed another loss, a promising display saw the hosts keep their heads in the game, eventually salvaging a significant point at Old Trafford.

A wave of attacks from the first whistle saw the visitors keep up sustained pressure on United as the hosts struggled to nullify their attacking prowess. Although both sides succeeded in creating a handful of goal-scoring opportunities, a lack of clear-cut chances saw them fail to break the deadlock heading into half-time.

An invigorating second half saw the visitors break the deadlock in the 60th minute courtesy of Marcos Alonso’s exceptionally executed volley. However, United succeeded in quickly responding, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s composed equaliser finding the back of the net just two minutes later. Despite the introduction of attacking substitutes, both sides eventually failed to find the winner; having settled for a draw at Old Trafford.
