Manchester United Considering a Shock Move For £73m Rated Real Madrid Attacker

Luka Jovic to United, United transfer window Gabriel Veron, January departures, Manchester United midfield targets

Manchester United are reportedly said to targeting another big name move in the summer transfer market, this time turning their attention towards Real Madrid out-of-favour striker Luka Jovic.

Manchester United so far are having one of the best transfer windows of the last decade or so, having made two massive moves so far. Jadon Sancho being the first to move to Old Trafford from Dortmund for a whopping £73 million, making him one of the most expensive signings in the club’s history.

They also bagged World Cup winning Real Madrid centre back Raphael Varrane on a steal of sorts and and recently unveiled the player in front of the Old Trafford crowd in their first match back in front of the crow. Tom Heaton also made a switch from Aston Villa to United on a free transfer.

This clearly signals Manchester United intention in preparing to fight for the title this season ahead of massive moves by fellow title challengers Manchester City and Chelsea, and by the looks of it United are not done yet.

A recent article by Tribal Football suggests that the Red Devils are on the lookout for a new No.9 and Luka Jovic from Real Madrid is currently being considered. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his staff has kept a close eye on the player’s situation at Madrid and would like him to be a part of the new United project.

Luka Jovic was seen as a talented striker with a lot of potential, the reason Real bought him for a hefty fee of £60 million from Einchart Frankfurt. But after making the big move to Real Madrid his form has simmered down, he has only netted 2 goals for Real Madrid and then made a loan move switch back to Frankfurt in January in an attempt to get his football back on track

On the other hand, United’s Premier League clubs have also bolstered their attacking options significantly this summer, Chelsea has sealed the deal on Lukaku, Man City are strongly linked with Harry Kane and Liverpool have everything in need in their front three at their disposal, so despite the recent lucrative signings, United might still need to bring in a new No.9 at Old Trafford.

While some fans might argue they have Edinson Cavani as their true No.9, realistically speaking he is past his prime at 34-years of age and is only a viable option for another year or so.

United though have suffered a significant setback already as Marcus Rashford has been ruled out due to an ankle injury and will not be able to make a comeback until October. This does make things tricky for the manager in terms of his attacking options up front and an incoming arrival of a striker will significantly help the cause for the Red Devils. United meanwhile have kicked off the season in style with a 5-1 win over Leeds in their opening game this season.

Luka Jovic though will have to find his form back if he is to make an impact in the United squad and pressure is always significantly high at Manchester United too. Premier League is arguable the biggest stage in domestic football in the World and to play for Manchester United, one needs to be at the top of their game most of the time. An output of 2 goals in a season will never cut it and Ole and United backroom need to factor that in before making any move for the Luka Jovic.
