Manchester United completed the signing of Ajax young sensation, Dillon Hoogewerf from the Dutch champions on Saturday. Manchester United confirmed the move of the young forward in May as Dillon was aiming to move away from Amsterdam.
The 16-year-old Dutch sensation scored ten goals and was directly involved in 17 goals for Ajax under-17’s. Being one of the most consistent performers for Ajax, Dillon Hoogewerf caught the eye of Manchester United legend and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Dillon Hoogewerf confirmed his Manchester United signing by posting a video on his Instagram handle with Manchester United sharing the video on its account. In the video, Dillon Hoogewerf starts with Ajax jersey. The video ends with him wearing the Manchester United T-shirt with ‘Take me United Road’ anthem playing in the background.
Although, the Ajax player became the first signing of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but Daniel James is considered as the first signing. Even though Dillon Hoogewerf is Manchester United’s first summer signing, he is expected to start for the reserves before making into the senior and U-23 side.

However, the fee for the player is yet to be disclosed to the public. The Footballing fraternity expects Manchester United to have paid compensation to Ajax as they have developed the teenager in their academy.

This move from Manchester United comes after the challenge, the club is facing to sign Ajax captain and defender, Matthijs de Ligt. Manchester United are pretty fond of the Dutch market. Moreover, the club has raided it several times to sign such young player.
