A dominant display saw Manchester United secure a comfortable 2-0 victory over Everton on Saturday as the Red Devils maintained their three-point lead ahead of fifth-placed Tottenham in their quest to secure a position in the top-four. With Erik Ten Hag’s side keen on building winning momentum moving forward, they will look to find consistency in their results and performances over the coming weeks.

Imposing in their application from the first whistle, the Red Devils ensured they emerged as the dominant presence on the pitch for all of the first half. Having succeeded in creating numerous goal-scoring opportunities, United eventually found a breakthrough in the 36th minute through Scott McTominay’s crisp strike after the Scotsman found himself at the end of an incisive pass by Jadon Sancho into the penalty area; before the half-time break.

Aiming to equalise, the Merseysiders ensured they threatened United’s goal in the second half before an error by Seamus Coleman saw Marcus Rashford run in behind the opposition’s defence before laying off a swift pass for Anthony Martial, with the Frenchman doubling the home side’s lead in the 71st minute.

Having succeeded in controlling the game from thereon, Ten Hag ensured the Red Devils kept a clean sheet for two consecutive Premier League games as the team now aims to continue improving on the pitch moving forward.

David De Gea (GK) – 6/10: Although largely untested, De Gea remained a reliable figure between the sticks on Saturday. With the team reliant on his abilities, the Spaniard will be keen on remaining consistent in his output over the coming weeks.

Lisandro Martinez (LCB) – 6/10: Excellent in his application, Martinez delivered a notable display against Everton. Key to the team’s performance, the Argentinian will look to remain consistent in his displays moving forward.

Tyrell Malacia (LB) – 6/10: A boisterous presence at the back, Tyrell Malacia delivered a notable performance on Saturday. With Luke Shaw’s return uncertain, the Dutchman will be keen on being consistent on the pitch over the coming weeks.
