According to ESPN, Manchester United want to include Anthony Martial in a swap deal for Harry Kane. The 28-year-old forward has been on United’s radar for the past few seasons. A deal looks more likely to take place this summer as Martial has fallen out of favour at United. Spurs will try their best to keep Kane but his mind looks set to leave the club as soon as possible.
Harry Kane had expressed his willingness to leave the club in the summer of 2021. However, a move to Manchester City didn’t materialise and Kane ended up staying at Spurs. The England international had a poor start to the season, nevertheless, after Conte’s appointment, Kane has found himself among the goals again.
Antonio Conte has done a phenomenal job in getting the best out of Harry Kane again. Kane has been at the club for almost a decade but he has won no trophies with Spurs. That is a major concern for Kane and all the fans around the world. He is 28-years-old and still has some time to win some important trophies in his remarkable goal-scoring career.
Can Harry Kane Help Manchester United Win Trophies In The Next Few Years?
As established, Harry Kane has been the best striker in the Premier League in 2022. He is also the fifth highest goal-scorer in the history of the Premier League (stats via Premier League). The Englishman has a chance of going ahead of Sergio Aguero if he scores 7 more goals in the league. Moreover, he is the only active player among the top 10 highest goal-scorers in the history of the Premier League.
Harry Kane is very good at scoring headed goals. He also holds the ball well to bring others into the game as well. Not to mention his finishing skills, we have already established how prolific he has been in front of the net. He is also a very good free-kick taker, capable of scoring from direct free-kicks.

Most importantly, he is one dangerous passer of the ball. His key passes are outstanding for a striker and he uses that very well in the game. He drops from his traditional No. 9 position to collect the ball and spray it to a player who is free. He rarely plays a mis-pass and creates excellent chances for his teammates. His passing range is arguably as good as Kevin de Bruyne of Manchester City.
Does A Swap Deal Of Anthony Martial For Harry Kane Makes Sense?
Anthony Martial had just lost it at United since the last season. He just can’t seem to score even from very easy goal-scoring situations. United decided to loan him out to his preferred club Sevilla. He scored a goal for the Spanish outfit early on but that has been the only highlight for him there. He has been poor for Sevilla also and his future with United does not look good.
A swap deal for him to get Harry Kane makes perfect sense for Manchester United. It is a like-for-like replacement and United will be getting the better player at the end of this deal. However, United might have to cough up a chunk of their transfer budget in this player plus cash deal, considering how poor Martial has been for the past two seasons.

On the other hand, a swap deal between Martial and Kane does not make sense at all from a Spurs point of view. Conte has worked hard to improve this Spurs side and Kane has been a crucial part of it. However, with Martial, Conte will lose most of Kane’s qualities including the finishing quality of a striker. Spurs should only look for a player plus cash deal if Kane becomes hell-bent on joining Manchester United.
