According to reports in England, Manchester United are actively interested in sanctioning a move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane this summer, as the Red Devils look to bolster their options in the forward department for next season.
Manager Erik ten Hag is on the lookout for an experienced striker to strengthen the club’s prospects next season. The Red Devils have seemingly prioritised the signing of a forward ahead of any other position, as they aim to challenge for the Premier League title in the coming seasons.

According to The Daily Star, Manchester United are seriously interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane in the upcoming summer transfer window. Ten Hag’s side are already making preparations to make a move for the England skipper.
Ten Hag has marked the 29-year-old striker as the no.1 target for the Red Devils this summer. However, despite United CEO Richard Arnold having sanctioned a deal for the English forward, the club have also identified a number of other options, including the likes of Victor Osimhen and Goncalo Ramos amongst others.
With only a year left on Kane’s contract, Spurs remain reluctant in sanctioning a move for the player heading into the summer transfer window. Moreover, the North London club have reportedly slapped a £100m price tag on the player whilst United aim to negotiate an £80m deal for the England international.

Expected to face stiff competition from the likes of Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona for his services, Manchester United remain adamant about moving for Harry Kane this summer. Moreover, the Red Devils could also pursue a player-plus-cash deal involving Dean Henderson.
Despite Spurs’ continued struggles for consistency in results this season, the forward boasts impressive statistics, having already bagged 23 goals in the Premier League this campaign (stats via Transfermarkt); his ninth consecutive season having scored more than 20 goals a campaign.
Additionally, the England international’s appetite for silverware likely to impact his decision this upcoming summer. The 29-year-old forward is expected to push for a move before the 2023-24 campaign begins.
However, despite the optimism from United’s camp, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Spurs remain determined in landing a new deal with Harry Kane, with the only way the striker leaving the North London club is if he enters into negotiations with Manchester United moving into the summer window.
Moreover, Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy remains hopeful that the club’s new managerial appointment emerges as a big enough name to persuade the English striker in continuing his career with the London club moving forward.
