Man United Seriously Plotting Summer Move for €40m Rated Key Spanish Midfielder, Club in Contact With Player’s Agent

Dani Olmo, Manchester United

According to reports in Germany, Manchester United have expressed interest in RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo and are keeping close tabs on the attacker. The Red Devils are looking to boost their squad depth in the summer and the Spaniard has emerged as a potential target.

Dani Olmo’s contributions have been essential to RB Leipzig’s performances this season, with 14 goal contributions in 28 appearances in all competitions (stats via Transfermarkt). He has established himself as a key first-team player in the German side but his involvement has been restricted this campaign.

Although injuries have played their part, the Spaniard has been unable to feature in the starting XI even when fit, having accumulated just 15 starts. This has raised concerns that the attacking midfielder might not extend his contract with the German club, which expires in 2024.

As per reports from SportBILD (via SportWitness), Manchester United are closely monitoring the situation of RB Leipzig attacker Dani Olmo. The Red Devils see the Spain international as a possible solution to enhance their attacking potential from the centre of the pitch, bringing creativity, flair, and goals to their midfield.

With Christian Eriksen’s career nearing its end, the Red Devils are looking to find a replacement for him in the starting lineup, and the 25-year-old appears to be a suitable candidate. SportBILD suggests that a transfer fee of around £35 million could be sufficient.

Meanwhile, FC Barcelona are believed to be encouraging Olmo not to sign a new contract and stay put at RB Leipzig so that they can bring him back to Camp Nou on a free transfer next summer. However, the Spanish midfielder is unlikely to stay at the German club beyond this summer. Manchester United have apparently made contact with Dani Olmo, his father, and his agent to discuss the player’s plans.

Player Analysis

With 21 goals and 27 assists in 120 appearances for RB Leipzig since his transfer from Dinamo Zagreb, Dani Olmo has been an essential part of the first-team for the Bundesliga club. He is a highly skilled and versatile attacker, who can play out wide or in an advanced midfield role.

His adaptability allows him to play in various positions such as central attacking midfielder, false nine, and as a winger on either flank. Olmo’s technical skills are impressive, with excellent dribbling ability, close control, and a deft touch that enables him to create space for himself and his teammates.

The 25-year-old attacking midfielder’s vision and passing ability are top-notch, and he can deliver incisive through-balls, crosses, and set-piece deliveries. He is also a goal-scoring threat with a keen eye for goal and confidence in finishing with both feet.

Beyond his attacking prowess, the Spanish international is also a hard-working and intelligent player with excellent tactical awareness. He reads the game well and makes intelligent runs to create opportunities for himself and his teammates. He is comfortable both on and off the ball, making him a valuable asset for any team.

Olmo has also become a key player for Spanish national team, having featured 30 times and accumulating 6 goals and 7 assists for the La Furia Roja. He started all 4 games for Spain in the FIFA World Cup in Qatar last year, which has further added to his appeal.
