Dalot, Matic & Elanga Come in – Team News & Predicted Line-Up | How United’s Starting XI Would Look Like Against Watford

Manchester United Vs Watford

Manchester United host Watford this evening as the Red Devils look to find consistent results in the Premier League over the coming weeks. Having secured a well-deserved three points against Leeds United last weekend, Ralf Rangnick’s side will be keen on avoiding dropping points as they look to secure Champions League football for next season.

With the team having delivered an underwhelming performance in their midweek European tie against Atletico Madrid, the hosts will be keen on redeeming themselves this weekend. Considering a marginal gap in points between Manchester United and fifth-placed Arsenal, Rangnick will be keen on securing a full three points against Watford.

Although the manager witnessed a rather underwhelming display in Spain, the German is expected to retain a majority of the players included in the starting line-up that faced Atletico. Edinson Cavani and Scott McTominay remain unavailable to face Watford on Saturday while Anthony Elanga, Alex Telles, and Diogo Dalot are likely to make a comeback after being excluded from midweek’s starting XI in Europe.

Raphael Varane (RCB): An indispensable presence in United’s backline, Varane will be keen on improving his displays. With the team in need of his experience, the Frenchman could emerge as a major contributor to the team’s potential improvement over the coming weeks.

Harry Maguire (LCB): Although yet to find consistency, Maguire is expected to remain a regular feature in the starting line-up until the end of the campaign. Having shown a glimpse of improvement against Leeds, the centre-back will be hoping to gradually improve his contributions moving forward.

Alex Telles (LB): With Luke Shaw due to be granted a rest, Alex Telles is likely to be included in the starting line-up against Watford. Having had decent cameos in recent outings, the Brazilian will be keen on retaining the left-back spot over the coming weeks.

Midfielders

Nemanja Matic (CDM): Having played a vital role in the team’s relative improvement late into the second half, following his introduction, against Atletico, the Serbian will be pushing for a place in the starting line-up against the Hornets. A composed dictator of play, Matic’s addition could strengthen United’s midfield on Saturday.
