4-3-3 With Elanga, Maguire and Bruno – Team News & Predicted Line-up | How United’s Starting XI Would Look Like Against West Ham

Manchester United vs West Ham, Man United

Manchester United host West Ham United this Saturday as the Red Devils look to find consistent results ahead of a crucial race for top-four, heading into the final months of the campaign. Following a brilliant mid-week away win at Brentford, Ralf Rangnick’s side will be optimistic in taking three points against the Hammers at Old Trafford this weekend as they look to register consecutive Premier League victories for only the second time since the turn of the year.

With minimal absentees but several returnees for the weekend, Rangnick is unlikely to shuffle the squad for the game on Saturday. Victor Lindelof is the latest addition to the players understood to miss out against West Ham, with Jadon Sancho and Scott McTominay doubtful to be involved.

Meanwhile, the likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw, Edinson Cavani, and Paul Pogba remain sidelined with injuries. With Manchester United in need of finding consistent results and delivering convincing performances, Rangnick will be keen on three points alongside keeping a clean sheet against West Ham on Saturday.

Manchester United Starting XI Against West Ham United

Having had measurable success employing the 4-3-3 formation, the German is expected to retain the same set-up against David Moyes’ men. With the team growing promisingly comfortable across most areas of the pitch, United will be hoping to build upon their performances and stay alive in the race for top-four heading into a pivotal phase of the season.

Goalkeeper

David De Gea (GK): Undeniably, the team’s most crucial contributor in the ongoing campaign, De Gea is expected to retain his place between the sticks on Saturday. Having delivered compelling performances throughout the campaign, the Spaniard will be keen on continuing his excellent form until the end of the season.

Defenders

Diogo Dalot (RB): Amongst the team’s most promising performers in recent weeks, Dalot will be keen on cementing his spot at right-back over the coming weeks. The Portuguese has proven to be crucial to Rangnick’s system since his arrival and will be hoping to improve his tally of contributions heading into a crucial part of the campaign.

Raphael Varane (RCB): A pivotal part of United’s backline, Varane remains a crucial part of the team’s set-up in defence. Having delivered a string of composed performances in recent weeks, the Frenchman will be hoping to maintain and steadily improve his contributions over the coming weeks.

Harry Maguire (LCB): With Victor Lindelof set to miss out against the Hammers, Maguire is expected to return to the line-up on Saturday. Having endured a challenging season hitherto, it remains to be seen if the centre-back redeems himself heading into a demanding phase of the campaign.

Alex Telles (LB): Having grown in confidence and positively contributed to United’s performances, Telles will be keen on cementing his first-team spot moving forward. The Brazilian remains crucial to the team’s attacking prowess and will be hoping to witness an increase in his contributions over the coming weeks.

Midfielders

Nemanja Matic (CDM): With Scott McTominay doubtful to be involved against West Ham, Matic is expected to replace the Scotsman in midfield for Manchester United. Having been a crucial component in the team’s effort to control games in recent weeks, the Serbian will be keen on delivering a well-rounded performance on Saturday.

Fred (CM): Having majorly contributed to the team’s attacking phases in recent weeks, Fred will be keen on finding consistency over the coming weeks. Although the Brazilian remains a vital part of the starting line-up, Rangnick will be wary of Fred’s inconsistencies and weakness in fielding him against a technically superior midfield duo tomorrow.

Bruno Fernandes (CAM): United’s most crucial asset in the attacking third, Fernandes’ performance will be vital to the team’s goal-scoring opportunities against West Ham. Having been pivotal to the team’s creativity in the previous two outings, the midfielder will be hoping to maintain his good form until the end of the campaign.
