According to the news reports in Italy, Manchester United and Juventus have agreed on a deal for the transfer of Italian International Matteo Darmian.
With United needing to invest in the defensive areas, it is quite obvious that they will have to offload some first. With Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, all subject to being sold, it is likely one of them will leave United in the January transfer window to make space for a signing to actually compete with PSG in the upcoming UCL ties.
With Antonio Valencia and Ashely Young’s contract set to expire this summer, room for new permanent signings will free-up. But, the first name out of all these is most likely to be Matteo Darmian.

The Italian full-back has been linked with a move away from the club almost during every window since the arrival of Jose Mourinho. With some being just surface rumors and some being potential transfer reports, it never happened for Matteo Darmian.
Nevertheless, his discipline and respect for United is surely one to take note off for the youngsters at the club.
While getting very limited game time at his disposal, the Italian defender never made a fuss about it and continued to train the best he could. Darmian has performed on whatever roles he’s been asked to fill in may it be left-back, right-back or centre half, he did the job with the utmost respect and determination.

Since his arrival under the Van Gaal, Darmian has racked up a couple of trophies namely the Community Shield, the FA Cup, the League Cup, and the Europa League. All this time, he had been monitored by Inter, Napoli, and Juventus with all of them reportedly interested to take him off of United’s hands.
However, Juventus’ sporting director, Fabricio Paratici has reached an agreement with United to loan Matteo Darmian until the summer with an option to buy. Juventus will reportedly be paying United around 11-12 million Euros as the loan fee and the permanent fee combined.
With Massimilliano Allegri looking for a replacement for the departing Spinazzola, they have turned to Darmian as the candidate.
With Diogo Dalot and Luke Shaw being the only full-backs available come the end of the season, the interim manager might have more than a tough job at his hands with almost requiring 4-6 arrivals as defensive options alone.
