Code cracked: Mourinho’s 2 Greatest Weapons and Their Perfect Usage

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been struggling lately with two defeats in their first four games of the season, United find themselves at 10th place behind Arsenal in league table. Although it is too early in the season to get bothered by the club’s position but United has to get the results to show that they are potential Premier League title contenders this season.

For United to put up some good performances and get the results out of the games they need the likes of their star players Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez to perform and perform together. Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez were slammed for their performances in their defeats against Brighton and Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur.

Both Pogba and Sanchez are quality players but it is clear that something is not working with them together at Old Trafford. In general, you expect players of this quality to understand each other but it’s the balance that Manchester United seem to be missing.

The problem with these two players is neither of them seems to be contribute some help for the defence. Pogba was hammered by the United fans many times for his failure to track back. United fans were also frustrated about Sanchez’s tendency of losing possession when tries to make something happen.

To rectify this problem, Jose Mourinho has to play Pogba in a 4-3-3 formation and he should be deployed on the other side to Sanchez. When Sanchez and Pogba are on the same flank there seems to be a defensive problem because of the susceptibility of not tracking back by both these players, leaving that side to be open for opposition attack. This would mean that United wouldn’t be playing with a No.10 but it would better for Manchester United and the combinations.

Sanchez should find the chemistry to that he had at Arsenal with Ozil but this time around the place is Old Trafford and the man he should partner with is Pogba. Pogba’s ability to pick out the runs  from the midfield is what that is required to unleash Sanchez.

With four games into the season, United have to get their balance and combinations right to find themselves fighting for the Premier League title.
