United Legend Surprisingly Still Backs Jose Mourinho As United Manager Due To This Simple Reason

Jose Mourinho sack

Manchester United are sitting at 7th spot in the English Premier League table with only 21 points from opening 13 games, seven points behind 4th placed Chelsea. Last week, Jose Mourinho challenged his Manchester United side to surge into the top four by the start of 2019 but had a disappointing recent fixture which ended in a 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace.

The Red Devils are stuck with a negative goal difference at Old Trafford, team’s goal difference stands at a negative point in the league table and chances of making it into top four is getting tougher each week.

Angry and frustrated manager Jose Mourinho has accused his players in the post-match conference about lacking intensity, desire and heart against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Midfielder Juan Mata recently posted in his official blog,

”Still feeling bitter from drawing against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford, we’re already focused on our game against Young Boys.

Tomorrow we have a key game for moving towards our objective of progressing in the Champions League.”

Former club legend Ryan Giggs has backed Jose Mourinho to turn Manchester United’s season around and says sacking him will not change anything. Giggs told Sky Sports News,

[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]

“I don’t see why changing the manager at this stage will change anything.

Everyone knows what a successful manager he’s been over the years. I believe that bit of stability we’ve not had over the years – we need to stick with him.”

The biggest issue for the fans is that rivals Manchester City and Liverpool have climbed their way up to the top in the English League and their playing style has evolved during the recent years. Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson has won many trophies, but the Portuguese manager has been unable to do so. If Mourinho doesn’t start winning games, he could very be sacked in the coming future and he will deserve it.

Just look at the way Real Madrid sacked their newly appointed coach Julen Lopetegui after such a short spell when unable to meet the standards.

On the bright side, if Mourinho’s team win the coming Champions League fixture against Young Boys at Old Trafford on Tuesday evening, they could be on their way to the knockout stages in the Champions League. With eight matches remaining till the end of the year, United will have several chances to perform consistently and move the ladder to the top four spots as well.
