Team News: Pogba Eyes Return As He Offers Injury Update

Manchester United give major update on Paul Pogba as he eyes return to action after spending on the sidelines for more than three weeks.

Paul Pogba picked up an injury earlier last month and Jose Mourinho described it as a long-term injury.

Pogba enjoyed a good start to the season scoring in back-to-back games before succumbing to an injury during the Champions League win over FC Basel.

Although Pogba has missed the last five games for United, the Reds seemed not to be affected having won all the matches to emerge as the joint-leaders in the table alongside Manchester City.

In the last five matches, United have scored four goals each in four of the matches and conceding only twice. The Reds still remain unbeaten since the start of the season.

The Frenchman was substituted with 18′ minutes into the match against FC Basel in the Champions League after suffering a hamstring injury.

Though the initial treatment calmed the fears of any serious damage, the Portuguese boss explained his injury as a long-term injury.

Mourinho said to the press:

“His injury is not one that I can have the hope like I can have with others.”

“With long-term injuries, I don’t speak about them, so Ibra, Pogba, Rojo and these players, I don’t think about them.”

The France International is continuing to recover from his injury at Carrington as the international break goes on.

Pogba posted a video a week later after his injury on his Instagram account of him dancing to allay fears of long-term absence and fueling his return.

Recently, Paul Pogba fueled his return to action by posting another video on Instagram going through light excercises.

The French midfielder seemed to continue his injury rehabilitation with some ‘Bruce Lee’ style exercises.

Paul Pogba has stepped up his recovery as he believes to return for action as United continue to impress under Jose Mourinho.

Though Manchester United are in pretty good form lately, it still requires current one of the best midfielders in the world to be back in the game.

The fans would love to see the record signing midfielder back in action on the field as soon as possible.

Let us all hope to see Pogba terrorize opposition defences with his skills and physicality.
