Manchester United will make some key changes to their starting line-up as they travel to Cyprus to face Omonia F.C.
The Red Devils will look to bounce back to winning ways following an underwhelming result in the league against Manchester City last weekend. Having won only one of their two Europa League group fixtures hitherto, the Red Devils will be keen on gaining momentum in the competition as they prepare for a demanding period of games over the coming weeks.
Following a disappointing result in their opening group stage fixture against Real Sociedad, a promising performance against Sheriff saw Erik ten Hag’s side secure a comfortable victory in their previous outing in the competition.
Expected to make it into the latter stages of the tournament, United will be looking to avoid any hiccups on Thursday, with the manager likely to make several changes to the starting line-up facing Omonia.
Harry Maguire, Donny van de Beek and Raphael Varane remain sidelined due to injuries whilst loan arrival Martin Dubravka is expected to make his club debut on Thursday, having travelled with the squad for the game against Omonia. Cristiano Ronaldo could potentially be included in the starting line-up, having been an unused substitute against City whilst Casemiro too could start the game on Thursday.
Probable Manchester United Starting Line-Up Against Omonia
Goalkeeper
Martin Dubravka (GK): With De Gea having featured in every game hitherto, Dubravka is expected to be granted his club debut on Thursday. Likely to challenge the Spaniard for his first team spot, the new arrival will be hoping to make an impression against Omonia.
Defenders
Diogo Dalot (RB): With Aaron Wan-Bissaka seemingly phased out of the squad, Dalot is expected to remain the manager’s only option at right back for the foreseeable future. Having delivered several promising displays this season, the full-back will be keen on staying consistent on the pitch moving forward.
Victor Lindelof (RCB): Deemed a rotational option, Lindelof will be keen on making the best of his opportunities over the coming weeks. Expected to be granted a number of starts – owing to injuries sustained by Maguire and Varane – moving forward, the Swedish international will be keen on producing notable displays over the coming fixtures.
Lisandro Martinez (LCB): Having been amongst the most consistent players at United this season, Martinez will be keen on maintaining his impressive form moving forward. Likely to play a majority of games over the coming weeks, the Argentine will be keen on remaining consistent on the pitch heading into a busy period of football.
Luke Shaw (LB): Having played a half against City, Shaw is likely to be granted a start on Thursday. With Tyrell Malacia having been consistent hitherto, the England international will be keen on returning to his best form over the coming weeks.
Midfielders
Casemiro (CM): Yet to cement his place in the starting line-up, Casemiro will be keen on delivering a notable performance against Omonia. Having been slow in adapting to the team’s requirements hitherto, the Brazilian will be looking to perform to his potential moving forward.
Fred (CM): Reduced to a rotational role, Fred will be keen on delivering a notable performance on Thursday. With the team short on midfielders suited to the manager’s philosophy, the Brazilian is expected to be granted a number of starts over the coming fixtures.

Attackers
Antony (RW): Having had a steady start to life at United, Antony will be keen on finding consistency on the pitch moving forward. Despite an underwhelming display against City, the winger will be looking to deliver notable performances moving into a demanding period of fixtures.
Bruno Fernandes (CAM): With Christian Eriksen likely to be granted a rest, Fernandes will be keen on making an impression against Omonia. With much left to be desired from his performances, the Portuguese international will be keen on returning to this best form moving forward.
Marcus Rashford (LW): Struggling for consistency, Rashford will be keen on nailing down a starting spot over the coming weeks. With competition for places across the frontline, the England international will be looking to return to his best form over the coming fixtures.
Anthony Martial (ST): Expected to play a vital role under Ten Hag, Martial will be keen on delivering a notable performance on Thursday. With the team’s attacking prowess reliant on his ability, the French forward is expected to be amongst the first names on the team sheet under Ten Hag.
Score Prediction: Omonia 0-3 Manchester United
