Why Aubameyang will win the Premier League Golden Boot Despite Competing With The Likes Of Aguero, Salah And Kane

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, PL Golden Boot

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang joined the Gunners back in January this year and has since been one of their most consistent performers. The Gabonese striker has bagged 10 goals in 4 months and chipped in some handy assists for Arsenal. The arrival of Aubameyang has been a pleasant sight to the fans, who have become tired of watching Lacazette and Welbeck underperform.

Before his transfer to Arsenal, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang was Borussia Dortmund’s primary focal point for goals, especially after the departure of Robert Lewandowski. The 29-year-old striker scored over 100 goals during the span of 4 years in the Bundesliga, winning the top scorer award once in 2016/17 although denied of winning the League Title.

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang possesses frightening pace, excellent heading abilities and lethal finishing prowess all of which establishes him as one of the most complete and deadly strikers in Europe. The Gabonese striker has been a consistent goalscorer for most of his career, which is something Arsenal have lacked since the departure of the likes of Thierry Henry or Robin Van Persie.

New signings will further help the Gabonese forward in his quest to win the Golden Boot. Addition of the pocket pitbull Lucas Torreira will considerably reduce the defensive duties on Ozil, definitely helping the German to stay more focused on creating chances.

Former Dortmund teammate Henrikh Mkhitaryan shares a natural understanding with him, who also has a highly creative style of play. Hector Bellerin is great in covering the flanks and providing crosses, which the 6ft 2” forward will surely want to take advantage of.

Aubameyang thrives within the 18-yard space due to his speed, agility and finishing capabilities. Moreover, Unai Emery, the man who took charge of the Arsenal Dugout after Arsene Wenger departed the club, is the absolute correct man for the Gunners. His tactics will positively get the best out of Aubameyang, Mkhitaryan and Ozil, who are assumed to flourish in his fluid goal-scoring system.

However, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang will face tough competition on the road to winning the Golden Boot primarily from:

Harry Kane:

The England international has won the Golden Boot twice in the past 3 seasons and scored an impressive 30 goals last season. But, unlike Aubameyang, Kane had a lengthy FIFA World Cup 2018 campaign alongside the fact that Spurs haven’t made any new signings this summer. This might diminish his goal-scoring output helping the cause of the former Dortmund striker.

Mo Salah:

Being last season’s Golden Boot winner, Salah will do everything in his might to retain his title. But after Liverpool’s failure to win any significant silverware for yet another season, Klopp may have eyes on the UCL trophy which he failed to win last year even after reaching the finals. But, for that, he will need his talisman Mo Salah well rested and fit. This could mean that the Egyptian may miss a game or two before a high profile UCL clash.

Sergio Aguero:

Kun Aguero is a legend at the Ethiad because of his numerous achievements and unforgettable moments while donning the Manchester City shirt. However, it will be difficult for the Argentine to add to his tally of one Golden Boot, with Pep Guardiola preferring to rotate his squad constantly and play either him or Gabriel Jesus. Also, Aguero has a record of getting injured at some point in time during the season, which has been a regular for the past few years.

Arsenal fans can certainly expect some surprises, quality football and maybe few cheeky celebrations at the White Hart Lane or Stamford Bridge and most importantly, a player on whom they can rely upon to consistently score goals.
