Arsenal are set for a major summer transfer window as they are going to let many of their players go out in order to create funds for their new arrivals. Their priorities are signing a right-back, central midfielder and two strikers for the next season, according to Football London. Arsenal were the highest spenders this season, spending around £143million to bring in six new players.

Four out of those six signings turned out to be key for their successful season. Whereas the other two signings have also shown promising signs and could stay with the club for a long time. The Gunners are currently 4th on the Premier League table and will be playing in the Champions League next season if they keep up this form.

Undeniably there is still room for improvement and Arsenal wants to improve their squad depth and overall quality. They are still unsure whether they will have a striker to play with or not next season. Arsenal are in the hunt for two strikers and also want to improve the depth in the centre-back position. Whereas Tomiyasu’s injuries have led them to think about other available right-backs.

Who Will Arsenal Sell At The End Of This Season?

As per Football London, Arsenal has already agreed to deals for Konstantinos Mavropanos and Matteo Guendouzi. Both the players are likely to make their loan deals permanent following their successful loan spells.

Moreover, Bernd Leno could also see an exit out of the club. Both Arsenal’s technical director Edu and Mikel Arteta already have Leno out of their books as they have already shaken hands with New England Revolution for Matt Turner. The 27-year-old is expected to be the second-choice goalkeeper behind Aaron Ramsdale. This could also see Alex Runarrson out of the club as he will also struggle to game time ahead of Ramsdale and Turner.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Hector Bellerin are also set to make their loan deals permanent at the end of this season. Arsenal are looking forward to signing a right-back in the summer. American international Auston Trusty will be returning from his loan spell at Colorado Rapids. However, it is likely that Arsenal will loan him out again to a European club.

Lucas Torreira also looks set to join Fiorentina permanently after spending one year on a loan. If Arsenal do include William Saliba in their first-team plans, Pablo Mari could also see himself out of the club. Cedric Soares is also a doubt as his future depends on whether Arsenal will sign a right-back or not in the summer. Moreover, Roma seems interested in signing Granit Xhaka and that deal could take place at the end of this season.

Why This Summer Transfer Window Will Be Very Crucial For Arsenal?

Arsenal have improved a lot from last season when they finished 8th and are in a strong position to finish fourth this season. Because of their spending spree last summer, they have profited a lot and look set to play Champions League for the first time in five years. However, there is still a gap between a top-four team and a title-winning team. Arsenal have to transfer out the players who no more fit in the manager’s books.

Arsenal are still a top-four team and they have to make that leap from a top-four team to a title-winning team. For this leap, recruitment is one of the most important aspects that will help them challenge for trophies. The new players have to meet the manager’s criteria to succeed at the club. They should have the required skillset to satisfy the manager.

However, Arsenal will need good quality players, not just any player in their squad. These high-quality players will be expensive and the Gunners will need the necessary funds to make these signings. Therefore, transferring out players who do not fit in the manager’s plans could be the best way to get more funds. This is exactly what Arsenal will be doing to challenge for trophies next season and an overhaul was a must for Arsenal which Arteta can perform very well.
