REVEALED : What United Legends Carrick And Neville had to Say About Pogba’s Fallout With Mourinho

It seems that Paul Pogba is very happy that José Mourinho finally got sacked; it was reported that the former Juventus midfielder was high-fiving his team mates after the news broke out.

And this did not go well with a Manchester United legend, Michael Carrick. He was clearly unimpressed by how Pogba reacted to Mourinho’s sacking – the French international reportedly said that the Portuguese failed to turn the Red Devils fans against him.

Carrick, who conducted the training session on Tuesday, noted this and confronted the whole squad. He is said to have reminded everyone that players who do not match the high level standards of Manchester United will be moved.

Mourinho’s last season in charge was heavily headlined for his strained relationship with Pogba. According to reports, the relationship completely broke down in the past 5-6 months. Pogba was also dropped to the bench in three of his final 4 games.

Just minutes after the sacking, the World cup winning midfielder posted a strange picture of himself on Twitter and Instagram with the message “Caption this.” The post was deleted shortly, with Pogba claiming that it was a scheduled marketing strategy with his sponsor’s Adidas.

Gary Neviile, meanwhile labelled this excuse as “absolute garbage.” Neville while on Sky Sports’ The Debate special said,

“There is probably a high level of dislike there, but José Mourinho lost his job this morning and Paul Pogba and his people put that post out – don’t fall for this coincidence scheduled tweet nonsense, it’s garbage, absolute garbage. Paul Pogba, there is no doubt, has fallen out with the manager.

He doesn’t believe in him, he doesn’t like him, he doesn’t think he’s a good coach probably, and vice-versa. José Mourinho doesn’t think Paul Pogba is as good a player as he thinks he is. There’s been a complete breakdown in the last six months between the pair of them, probably the last year.”

Many have since criticized Pogba for his antics, and it mainly has not gone well with the fans. Mourinho’s colleagues including Pep Guardiola, Jürgen Klopp, Mauricio Pochettino and Gianfranco Zola have all offered sympathy to the Portuguese.

The Red Devils have now appointed former striker Ole Gunnar Solskjær as the caretaker manager for the rest of season. A new head coach will be appointed after the end of the current season.

With this appointment it is safe to say “Bye Bye Mourinho, and hello Solskjær!”
