Ibrahimovic Reveals Intimate Details Behind The Pogba-Mourinho Feud And Why Pogba Couldn’t Perform

Pogba

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed all the details about the infamous feud between Paul Pogba and Jose Mourinho.

Pogba and Mourinho sensationally fell out midway through last season, and the relationship gradually got worse as time went on. It was a saga that went on for months and created a poisonous atmosphere in the dressing room.

Mourinho labelled Pogba a ‘virus‘ but the feud in general caused severe unrest in the dressing room. One of them were bound to leave, and rumors began to grow about Pogba potentially moving to Barcelona.

In the end, it was Mourinho who got sacked after United’s shockingly poor start to the season. Since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer came in and replaced him, Pogba has looked like a whole new player. He has scored 5 goals in his last 5 games and is truly back to his best.

Ibrahimovic, who has a great relationship with both parties, admitted that Pogba is more free now following Mourinho’s departure. The legendary striker worked with both of them during his two-year spell at Old Trafford. In a stunning interview with ESPN, he explained how the duo simply ‘didn’t feel confidence’ in each other.

Ibrahimovic told ESPN:

“There are these players that need to be free, they need to feel free to do what they are able to do under the disciple of the coach.

“Obviously, he has his tactics, he has that, but some players they go above these limits, and you need to let them be free, and I think Paul [Pogba] is one of them.

“Paul didn’t feel confidence from the coach, and the coach didn’t feel confidence for Paul.

“It’s difficult to perform as a player if you don’t have confidence from the coach and you don’t have that energy, that motivation, and Jose felt the same thing about Paul.”

“These things happen, and that is part of the game also; I mean, not everybody can go among each other and do well together.

“I feel like you come to a moment where it is too blocked and one goes or the other one goes. At this moment, the coach left, and Paul is more free now.”
