Match Preview & Injury Update: United vs West Brom

West Brom, Arsedevils, Manchester United, West Brom, Manchester United Vs West Brom, Old Trafford

The Red Devils welcome the bottom-most team of the league table West Brom for their Premier League tie at the Theatre of Dreams on Sunday afternoon.

Jose Mourinho and his men are riding high on confidence after the recent run of form for the Red Devils except for the Champions League outing against Sevilla. Manchester United won the derby last week making a dramatic 3-2 comeback after being 2-0 down in the first half.

United firmly stand second in the PL table after beating rivals Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City in the previous encounters and have beaten each team in the Premier League this season atleast once. Meanwhile, West Brom are bottom of the table and run high chances of getting relegated this season.

The Reds will be looking for a sixth successive win against the Baggies to continue with the excellent run of form and it will help to build the momentum for a busy week for United with an away game at Bournemouth ahead of their FA Cup semi-final clash over Tottenham at the Wembley Stadium.

What United lacks to form the Title Winning Squad?

Injury News

The boss has confirmed to MUTV that he has a fully fit squad to choose from at his disposal ahead of West Brom apart from the injured goalkeeper Sergio Romero.

Jose Mourinho told MUTV ahead of his press conference:

“Everyone is perfect, apart from Romero,”

“All the few players [who were injured] are ready to play.”

The Argentinian received a knock while on international duty during their 6-1 loss to Spain last month and will remain sidelined for the West Brom fixture.

Ander Herrera returned to the side last week against Manchester City after being on the sidelines for about a month, while Phil Jones, Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo are available once again for selection putting their injury issues behind.

Our Record against West Brom

Manchester United have the edge over bottom of the table team West Brom in the 131 matches played between the two teams in all competitions.

Manchester United has won 56 of the total encounters while the Baggies are winners 43 times. 32 fixtures have ended in draws.

Last Encounter: The Reds emerged victorious in the last meeting at The Hawthorns with a 2-1 win during the reverse fixture.

Players facing Former Clubs

There could a possible three players facing their former clubs during the Premier League clash.

Romelu Lukaku scored 17 goals for West Brom during a loan spell in 2012/13 including a hatrick against the Red Devils in a 5-5 draw in the final day of the season.

Meanwhile, West Brom defender Jonny Evans spent nine years at the Old Trafford before joining the Baggies in 2015 and keeper Ben Foster made 23 appearances for United before leaving in 2010.

As a fan, I will be hoping for a win for the Red Devils.
